marriage in sikhism....is anand kaarj

holier above any other, hence no astrological considerations are to be made and no superstitions are to be observed in fixing the date of the wedding. - The religious ceremony to take place in a Gurdwara or in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib. -Burden of the cost of the wedding to be shared as equally as possible. The daughter of a Sikh should be given in marriage to a Sikh. If a man is a believer in Sikhism, is humble by nature, and earns his bread by honest means, with him matrimony may be contracted without a question and without consideration for wealth and riches.

marriage in islam..to the infinity and beyond..a pledge.

Marriage in its purest form is the most beautiful of all things, and can’t be broken if it is done with the intention to seek Allah’s pleasure and to grow in every step together towards Him. This pure form is the coming together of two souls, which intertwine to almost become one, and as soon as we take that step, our soul crosses almost into another realm. Subhan’Allah. The sacred bond between a husband and wife who center everything around Allah’s commandments is the most treasured and blessed of all things. When the spouses know and follow the fundamental Islamic values of marriage, then they will understand their roles and duties towards each other. To guide whilst being guided by their spouse too. This way any disagreement will easily be dispelled by the beauty of Islam, and disappear as quickly as it appeared. Spouses must walk hand in hand helping each other to be the best possible Muslim. For if we do everything with Allah in mind, there is no way it will forsake us, and with this in mind in’sha’Allah a relationship will prosper.

marriage in christianity .....

there are so many pledges and promises.Male ______, I love you and I know that this love is from God. Because of this, I want to be your husband so that we might serve Christ together. Through all of the uncertainties and trials of the present and future, I promise to be faithful to you and love you. I promise to guide and protect you as Christ does his church, as long as we both shall live. God's Word gives us the perfect example of this love in Christ's death for the Church. I shall try always, with God's help, to show you this same kind of love, for I know that in His sight we will both be one. Female ______, I love you. I prayed that God would lead me to his choice. I praise Him that tonight His will is being fulfilled. Through the pressures of the present and uncertainties of the future I promise my faithfulness, to follow you through all of life's experiences as you follow God, that together we may grow in the likeness of Christ and our home be a praise to Him.

in hindus the marriage is base of whole society...

7--vows..1. In the first round or phera, the couple prays to God for plenty of nourishing and pure food. They pray to God to let them walk together so that they will get food. 2. In the second round, the couple prays to God for a healthy and prosperous life. They ask for the physical, spiritual and mental health from God. 3. In the third Phera the couple prays to God for wealth. They ask God for the strength for both of them so that they can share the happiness and pain together. Also, they pray so that they can walk together to get wealth. 4. In the fourth round the couple prays to God for the increase in love.

well , marriage is a pledge to do your duties where love ...

love slowly creeps in if you do your duties . here I have given a description of marriage from all major religions . people ready to die in name of religion. Just stop , look and say that are you following your religion in true sense and essence . well , so much reading about rape , molestations , eve teasing and more or less it has become most sensuous topic to discuss , draw attention some times to the extent that it looks vulgar . Grihast -ashram is the base of whole society , nation and world community so pl. try at all the levels to ensure the health and hygiene of this institution known as
marriage and with the time there would be remarkable decrease in all the crimes against women . no , religion recommends dowry , bride burning ,and female feticide but then why it is being practiced in the whole society . so , all the wise men pl. wake up to the call of your duty... few tips to follow for a satisfying and happy life full of love and compassion. well , if you survive ....then you are really immortal birth after birth .and then love is sacred . love is divine . love is god and meditation and awakening too .

Nice article on the 7 Vows and the parallels found in contemporary faiths.
[ courtesy TOI ]. Ok, the number 7 may just be too much of a co-incidence

But what's your take on the 7 Year Itch ?

How many such 7 Year Itches = a successful marriage ?

And how are marriages sustained on the BDSM scale ?

Your take, please .

Yay Yem
