Just give the answer PJ sir..RR ji is not here..other members will read but they wont participate ..so besides Bala sir and me right now..no one else is going to answer.

I have a feeling you might think that the answer is Rs 200 but that cant be cos the Rs 800 change rendered are real notes and not fake notes..so it has to be loss of Rs 1000.

Dear PJ sir,


You could be thinking like this..that the grocery shop owner lost Rs 800 cash.

You are not considering the Rs 200 worth of goods cos that was not in the form of cash!

But in reality if you want to go real specific we have to also consider the cost price sans profit of those goods.

The customer bought good worth Rs 200 but what was the cost price sans profit for the shop owner?

We dont know right?

So for all practical purposes this question is not very accurate...but the similar question I found online mentions that the shop owner was selling without any profit(read my previous few posts)..so in that case its very specific and the answer is Rs 1000.


So if you want to have an answer of Rs 800 your questions should have been worded as "how much did the shop owner lose is CASH only?
