I am sure Sravna is going to like this.I was seeing Discovery Science where there was a question as Does Time Really Exists?
Was there a time where time did not exists?
Then it goes to the theory that time is linked with light and time started when the Universe was born during the Big Bang.
But before the Big Bang?? Did Time exists?
Time is considered an interval between events which we call change.
The fact that change is inevitable and noticeable we feel time is moving.
But what if there was no perception of change..would we feel time?
The example given is deep sleep..when we are in deep sleep we have no perception of time.
Then the next question is "does the universe too experiences a deep sleep phenomenon?"
I thought that sounded very much like Yoga Nidra of the Universe.
Then there is also a question about "what was the timeless state before the Universe came into existence?"
Then a postulated theory is that the Universe as we see it is a "child" of another Universe where everything has to be in equilibrium.
An unknown tilt in that equilibrium would give rise to the creation of the Universe as we know it today.
Then it also postulates that this process could have happened many times in cycles...creation and dissolution.
I feel this whole thing sounds so similar to the Hindu Philosophy where before "creation" all the 3 Gunas are in state of equilibrium and a tilt in that equilibrium causes "creation" to come into being.
Then there is a talk about total Void. In quantum mechanics even in complete Void there is fluctuation of energy..so technically something can come out from even apparent nothing.
Now this sounded so much like Sunyavada..where from nothing comes out everything.
Then the documentary says that Time is actually meaningless to the Universe.
Its only important for us becos it anchors us in our understanding.
Really interesting findings by these dedicated group of physicists.
