Or, is it a victory for "trial by media"? Unless the final verdict comes from the Supreme Court, or convincing evidence to prove that the parents killed their daughter, comes out, I will prefer to believe that the 45-year old helper who might have had illicit relationship with the young girl could have murdered her at some point of disagreement. How that Hemraj himself was killed would need an investigation by a capable agency.

Tehelka's Tarun Tejpal will be relived for the next couple of days or so as the Media attention will be more on the Aarushi Court Verdict and Tomorrow's sentence to the parents rather than on him.

I feel that the biggest blunder was done by the Nodia Police in the Initial stages in not collecting the evidence properly and that created all these gaps in investigation and that led to various theories , counter theories , media speculation etc and finally this verdict . I am sure this will not be the end of this trial and they will go for appeal and the trial will continue .

Noida police was the first to voice the doubt that the dentist couple were behind the ghastly twin murder.....But they were pilloried by social and media organizations for being reckless......It is circumstantial evidence which is strong in this case

Had the Noida police been more professional with regard to collecting the forensic evidence there would be no 2 opinions in this case . Yesterday in a TV show Kiran Bedi also said the same thing i.e for any crime which lacks eyewitness forensic evidence is the best way to nail the culprits in a professional manner . Ex CBI Officer Ragottaman also said in a TV program few months earlier that the solution to most crimes is mostly in the scene of crime itself as even the most cunning of criminals cant help leaving some trace of evidence directly / indirectly at the scene of crime . Here the Scene of crime was heavily tampered with every Tom ,Dick and Harry moving in an out of that apartment after the crime was done .

I get many doubts. Possibly the Talwar couple are involved in one of the murders and perhaps initially they thought of putting the blame on the domestic help whose body was, unfortunately, found on the terrace. The police also probably made all the mistakes deliberately because they might have thought that the case could be closed as it happened subsequently. But the plan seems to have misfired and hence the present position.

Actually in this case I wonder where was the need for murder??

It could have been handled 2 ways:

1)The girl was a only 14..so the domestic helper could have been jailed for statutory rape for his relationship with the girl.

2)If parents did not want the family named to be "spoiled" ..they could have sacked the domestic helper and shifted out of town with their daughter.

These two options were there..

A 50-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his daughter for nearly 11 years and fathering a child with her, police said on Thursday.


The accused identified as Ibrahim Shaikh was arrested Wednesday after the 26-year-old victim claimed in her complaint that he is the biological father of their 8-year-old daughter, they said.
That is more heinous crime than murder.

However, there is a difference in the background of the people committing the crime.Normally we don't expect people of Talwars standing to stoop to this level of criminals.If they have committed the crime, it is despecable.

Both throat slit wounds have to be examined..the girls and Hemraj..is the technique was same than it could have committed by the same person. I wonder what was the autopsy finding.

If both wounds were different than what I suspect could be right.

The problem is they should have discarded the body of Hemraj well..so that they can say he is missing etc and not let the body still be in the house..as dentist surely they have surgical skills to cut up a human body into small pieces..these days there is so much info on how to dispose a body..police usually check the hard drive of personal lap tops and smart phones to see which websites were checked in case they suspect anyone of going online to check out websites on how to dispose a human body...so skilled murderers never use their personal lap top or smart phones to go to these website..they usually go to cyber cafes...away from home or work place and also make purchases by cash and not credit cards..credits cards can be traced.


Forensics use Luminol which can detect traces of blood..so cleaning up is a big job and there are special not too hard to get solvents.

Wood flooring can absorb blood even after it is cleaned..so DNA can be found in bits of wood flooring.

That forensics identified that the death of Hemraj was on account of a Golf club type object & that Talwar was a member of Golf club & that they had left the golf club used in the attack in the loft was their undoing.

This itself shows that they acted in a fit or rage and anger and did not even think to get rid of evidence.

A cool calculative murderer would cover up his tracks..why didnt these dentists couple do so?

Cos they could have been straight forward people who were already distraught that their daughter was killed by their domestic helper and could not think how to get rid of evidence.

So basically they could have had just man slaughter charges and not Life sentence if they had admitted killing Hemraj out of anger that he killed their daughter.

DNA should be able to proof that but even then..just in case anyone thinks that just becos she is not their biological daughter hence they had no problems in killing her..one can also argue that if she was not biological and did not love her..then why even care that Hemraj had something on with her?

In North honor killings are quite common..However as this happened in the highly educated upper class family which normally are supposed to be liberal and modern, there is lot of doubt on the homicide for honor angle!

The Talwars are known to one of my friends..He was completely shocked on the murder most foul!
