Rhetorics will not help. If your modi hate and bjp aversion has not evaporated or even mellowed which sane Indians have effectively demonstrated, that is unfortunate. Those psecs who talk of minority appeasement and majority bashing have been taught a lesson. Modi said he will work for all 125 crore Indians.
The main issue is why small parties cannot fight national elections when even individuals can fight as independents. It is against fundamental rights.

I am not going to talk of your intellectual powers.
I am not a Modi fan or BJP Supporter. I do agree that INC wasted 5 years with out any leadership. So I wish all success to Modi and BJP for India.
I did not question individuals right in contesting election (but that is not obvious to you, no wonder there). Your sectarian hatred is obvious, I hope Modi's government does not have your vindictive ways.

Our rajadharma ( exposure to our scriptures will help) empowers the ruler to protect all subjects, punish the guilty and uphold dharma. That is precisely what modi has said. Your calling him Nazi and Hitler deserve strong condemnation. Arun shourie in a recent TV interview wished death of secularism as understood and practiced by sick politicians and intellectuals.
Sagarika ghosh of CNN ibn tweets that modi did not visit a mosque after temple visit in kashi. All seculars are like her only.

Now the drama of losers quitting or threatening to quit!

DMK was not far behind when Stalin offered to resign which was quickly taken back in 4 hours?

Now the media has become the target of DMK ire when Times Now video journalist was attacked by DMK workers!

It is Ammas wave in TN. In order to continue with development a state has to have good relations with the Centre. To develop in spite of that demands a powerful leadership. Though she sometimes shows that quality, people know she would waver somewhere. Thanks to DMK and MK she has been stready so far. MM Singh was an economist (not an administrator nor a politician), Modi is a commercial trader and has political inclinations. It will not be that easy for JJ to draw from him. Besides, Modi has to do a lot in UP, Bihar to sustain BJP. It is of course very tough as it has always been (not made for Modi) nor can he suddenly pretend to be Nehru-Gandhi family. Coming days will unfold the possibilities

Tamil parties piqued by participation of Rajapaksa in Modi swearing in..Will Amma participate in Modi swearing in?

Please read the threat given by Dr Swamy to Amma a shortwhile ago:

Subramanian Swamy ‏@Swamy39 2h I am in favor of President's Rule for four months followed by elections to Assembly if JJ govt doesn't accept Namo swearing- in invitation

Not sure if such threats work in Amma's land!

Modi invite to Sri Lanka president has allies seething; Jaya may skip swearing-in - The Times of India

When Pakistan which has waged three regular wars, is continuing proxy wars, a known terror source, can send its pm who is anti India, why not srilanka, a friendly country, no terror activities and whose leader is hounded by international christian community has to be barred. JJ is wrong and will suffer in the long run.

If srilanka is a serious issue for tamilians, vaiko and tiruma must have won with respectable margins. Where are they now? Let us hope indolunkan issues are sorted out through civilized talks keeping USA and europe out.

Amma likely to offer support to NDA in Rajya Sabha! A good beginning!!

JJ would have lost everything were it not for the timely intervention by Modi

On 17 December 2011, in a dramatic and sweeping move, Jayalalithaa expelled Sasikala and her brood (the Mannargudi mafia) from her Poes Garden house in Chennai.

Ever since the death of her mentor MGR in 1987, no one had been closer to the JJ than Sasikala who was everything: soulmate, housekeeper, political confidante. And an unelected power centre. The legendary friendship withstood the many dark cycles of political wilderness, when JJ would lose power and stay largely out of public eye. When AIADMK was swept back to power in the summer of 2011, they were in business together again.

Yet, barely six months into power, the two fell apart. In the intricate political circles of Chennai, there are some who know what happened.

The grapevine is hyperactive. There is a perception that Sasikala, 55, is guilty of planning a palace coup, and the Mannargudi mafia of hoping to replace JJ and install Sasikala as CM . Allegedly, the disproportionate assets case regarding which JJ had been travelling to Bengaluru for being questioned by a special trial court there — gave the Mannargudi group ideas. An unfavourable judgment by the court would have put pressure on JJ to resign and hand over the government to somebody she could trust.

Till a month ago, JJ’s Poes Garden residence was full of Sasikala’s men. (When Sasikala had first moved in with her in 1989, she had brought 40 servants from Mannargudi to Poes Garden to run JJ’s house. All maids, cooks, securitymen, drivers and messengers at Poes Garden were hired from Sasikala’s hometown.)

For a decade, nobody had access to Jayalalithaa without Sasikala’s permission. All independent assistants had been slowly but systematically moved out. It had reached such a stage that ministers were discussing policy issues with Sasikala. Civil servants were briefing their chief minister in the presence of Sasikala. Her words were considered Jayalalithaa’s command. She was the unstated deputy CM.

She also had a grip on the party structure. The AIADMK organisation is divided into regions, and most of the regional directors were Sasikala’s relatives. As such, MLAs were either chosen by the Mannargudi mafia or tried to ingratiate themselves to it.

Jayalalithaa had created a Frankenstein’s monster. It was she who had initially told party workers to meet Sasikala if they wanted to bring issues to her notice. Sasikala grabbed the opportunity and began to filter what information went up to the chief minister. Jayalalithaa became a prisoner of the Sasikala coterie.

So why did Jayalalithaa kick Sasikala out?

According to an AIADMK insider, it was Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who alerted JJ and warned her about the Mannargudi mafia. Modi apparently told Jayalalithaa to keep a watch on her inner ring.

He is also believed to have indicated to her that big investors were avoiding Tamil Nadu because of the extortionate demands of Sasikala and her family.

Specifically, an NRI businessman who came to Tamil Nadu with a project had to shift to Gujarat because the Mannargudi mafia had sought a 15 percent cut. That JJ was allegedly given sedatives and chemical substances that had small quantities of poison by a nurse appointed by Sasikala.

The degree and brazenness of Sasikala’s operations were a shock for JJ. Modi’s cautionary advice told her of corruption of a far higher order than she imagined: she was being kept out of the loop by Sasikala.

Shortly after the conversation with Modi, there came the episode of the Chennai monorail project. The chief minister was keen to put it on the fast track and favoured awarding it to a Singapore company that she felt was best equipped. She told Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi to begin the paperwork. At the end of the process, when the file reached the chief minister, she found a Malaysian company had been put on top and the Singapore company downgraded. She called Sarangi and questioned him. It was Sarangi’s turn to be surprised. He told her he had received the file with a note from her saying the Malaysian company was potentially the best choice. Jayalalithaa asked for the entire correspondence related to the monorail project and was surprised to find her signature on a note favouring the Malaysian company. It was forged. Furious, JJ summoned Sasikala, who denied any involvement.

Following another tip-off (presumably from Modi), Jayalalithaa sought independent medical opinion on the medicines she was being given. Without telling Sasikala, JJ apparently went to see a well- known doctor. Her tests revealed, the story goes, that she was being given sedatives and chemical substances that had small quantities of poison. Her nurse at home had been appointed by Sasikala, and served the chief minister fruits and medicines at regular intervals.

By now Jayalalithaa had realised she had to act fast. She was also beginning to sense the unease in the bureaucracy and picking up murmurs of protest against the Mannargudi mafia.

It was K Ramanujam, Director-General of Police (DGP), Tamil Nadu, who put the last nail in the coffin. Ramanujam was alerted by Shanker Bidari, DGP Karnataka, about a secret meeting of the Sasikala family in Bengaluru in the first week of December. Apparently, intelligence officials in Karnataka had bugged the room where the meeting took place and the tapes made their way from the state police HQ in Bengaluru to its counterpart office in Chennai.

According to police sources in Tamil Nadu, the tapes revealed details of the conspiracy against Jayalalithaa. The meeting in Bengaluru is believed to have been attended by Sasikala, Natarajan, and their relatives. At the meeting, JJ’s troubles relating to the disproportionate assets case were discussed, and names of potential successor chief ministers thrown about.

After listening to the tapes, JJ decided to act. For five days, the state police kept a close watch on individual members of the Mannargudi mafia. It was a meticulous operation. The DGP was tasked with gathering evidence against the Sasikala cabal. A private detective agency was hired. Phones of the Sasikala family members and their close associates were allegedly tapped. Daily reports were sent to the chief minister directly. Nobody had access to Jaya without Sasikala’s nod. It had reached such a stage that ministers were talking about policy issues with Sasikala

At the end of it all, Jayalalithaa had a thick dossier on the Mannargudi mafia but also realised its tentacles were all over her party and government. They had the men and resources to seriously challenge her. It was not going to be easy to strip away their influence. Changes were made in the state police’s intelligence wing, which was believed to be a hotbed of Sasikala loyalists. Jayalalithaa posted someone as Inspector General (IG), Intelligence who had no links with the Mannargudi mafia. Next, the chief minister made changes in her personal security. Her personal security officer (PSO) for the past 10 years was believed to be used by Sasikala to monitor her movements. He too was transferred.

Finally at a Cabinet meeting, Jayalalithaa made it clear ministers would receive instructions from her alone and should not act on messages delivered, allegedly on her behalf, by Sasikala or others.

On 17 December came the moment of truth. Jayalalithaa asked the Mannargudi clan to pack up and leave her house.

P.S. Modi baiters should see a parallel here: JJ=MMS, Sasikala=SG. But in the end, JJ won, MMS lost! And Modi is the deliverer in both instances!

Sir,

The analogy is perfect!

AIADMK on a high 37/40 will Amma join NDA ?

I doubt whether Amma join NDA. But,AIADMK Leader and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms J Jayalalitha is a shrewd Politician.Though she may have political compulsions to keep BJP at an arms distance, She had kept her personal level equation with Mr Narendra Modi at a high level. She would extend out side support to Mr Modi's Government. Perhaps Mr Modi may offer some constitutional post like Dy.Speaker to AIADMK nominee.

Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

At meet with Modi, Jayalalithaa says Centre must improve ties with T.N

While ruling out the entry of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam into the National Democratic Alliance, party chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday kept the door open for support to the Narendra Modi government in the Rajya Sabha, where the alliance does not have the numbers to ensure passage of Bills.

After a 50-minute meeting with the Prime Minister, she said the need for a formal association with the NDA did not arise as the alliance had the majority in the Lok Sabha. Asked about the possibility of her party helping the government pass Bills in the Rajya Sabha, she replied: “We will see if that need arises.”
