[h=2]National carrier Air India found itself at the receiving end on social networking sites after a two-minute video went viral. The video shows Air India staff refusing entry to passengers with valid tickets because they had reached 55 minutes before the flight[/h]

I never travel by Air India. This carrier bleeds money of common man. It should be privatized, and all the employees should be retrained, or dismissed.

What insensitivity.

Their staff has been instructed to follow rules and implement

I missed the funeral of a near relative a few months back as I was a few minutes late at check in. I lost a whopping

16k for 2 tickets delhi -bangalore.

their reasoning was that in delhi intl airport, the boarding point is so far from check in point that it delays the flight

due to long walk and security checks that take a lot of time.

on one hand we want ontime performance and hammer airindia when they strictly enforce rules.

no one likes on time performance from air india.

we have got used to delays from air india.

in case they insist on timeliness, all are irritated and turn violent.

we cannot have it both ways.lol

there is a lobby which is anti airindia.

every day their minor lapses are high lighted

airindia is steadily gaining market share.

all others take the cue from airindia for fixing their fares.

Their employees are like other govt employees.

No better or worse.

I prefer them to private carriers who wait for an oppurtunity to over charge on

some head or other such as seat selection or food . These also hold on to your money on cancellations for some

period .Their ontime performance in some sectors is equally bad. Their flight cancellations and delays are not

highlighted as they know how to cover their tracks.

in domestic sector my first preference is air india.

it is a full service airline.

it is very senior citizen friendly

their hostesses may not be youngsters but far more professional in attending to needs of passengers.

they never over charge and return money promptly on cancellation

they have a laid back style which makes one feel good

You feel they are one of us with the same middle class values.

their flight timings are very comfortable. one can take a convenient flight in afternoon and go from one end of the

country to another.

since their passenger load factor is lower than private players , the planes are less loaded and cramped

their planes are also war horses . their pilots hold cat certification for take off and landing in fogs and better

experienced.

their pilots are so fussy , they may refuse to fly even if there is a minor problem ,until they are pretty sure it is fixed.

delays on that account fine, but no compromise on safety.
