[h=1]Amazon unveils the Dash, a device that makes sure that you don’t run out of anything[/h]
This week, Amazon had unveied the Fire TV, a revolutionary new set-top box. It seems Amazon just isn’t done with device announcements and it has gone forward and has announced the Dash, a device that is there to make sure that you never ever run out of stuff such as groceries.
The Dash is basically a Wi-Fi connected Barcode scanner and a microphone all rolled into one.
It connects to Amazon’s AmazonFresh service, a online grocery delivery service which is currently limited to those living in Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The basic concept is this: You scan something you have in the kitchen which the Dash adds to your AmazonFresh shopping list to remind you and make sure that you don’t run out of that thing EVER again. All you have to do is scan the thing before you are out of it.
And if you want the Dash to add something you don’t have, just speak the name of the item you want into the Dash and it will be added to your AmazonFresh shopping list.
You can currently get it for free, provided you satisfy two conditions: 1. You use the AmazonFresh shopping service 2. You are invited by someone to use the Dash.
It is a unique concept, taking us a step closer to the future where your kitchen appliances automatically order new stuff if they are out of stock.
It takes head on on our forgetful nature and with it’s simplicity, you can make sure that you will never run out of anything again. Which is applicable provided that you regularly update the Dash on what items you are low on.
No release date has been announced yet.
