Ancient temple demolished in Malaysia

Sad to know this! Why are the Muslims against Hindu-Buddhist faith...Earlier we had the Taliban destroying the centuries old Bamiyan statues destroyed in Afghanistan..Now it is happening in Malaysia on the pretext of development

Are we helpless against the onslaught on our traditions and beliefs?

Ancient 'candi' crushed by Malaysian developer | The Stream - Al Jazeera English

Dear Sir,

Just 12 days ago I had visited this same historical site and ancient archeological site in Lembah Bujang Kedah

Those are still very much intact and it was lesser known site which was demolished by a developer but the state government has intervened and now restoration is in the process.

I took pics of all Hindu and Buddhist idols in the museum in Lembah Bujang.

At the museum there was this one weird incident..I could take pics of all relics/idols etc but there was one Idol of the Boddhisattva where my camera just could not focus and neither could it click..the image itself was literally "dancing" on the screen..first I thought may be something was wrong with my camera or my hand was unsteady but when I took any other idol the camera could focus..only that one idol my camera could not take and focus..after a long time and moving real far behind I could get a faint image.

Wonder why?? Are some idols not photogenic??

Dear Madam,

You have the latest on this...Thanks for the feedback

On the idol I feel it is more to do with mind

However is it possible that the idol had negative energy & that is why it was repelling?

Dear Sir,

How can an idol of Lord Buddha as in Bodhisattva have negative energy?? May be it was me with the negative energy and the idol was telling me to Buzz Off!LOL

This State called Kedah has been mentioned even ancient texts such as Kathasaritsagar and Tamil Poem....

Kedah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Archaeological evidence found in Bujang Valley reveals that a HinduBuddhist kingdom ruled ancient Kedah possibly as early as 110 A.D. The discovery of temples, jetty remains, iron smelting sites, and clay brick monuments dating back to 110 A.D shows that a maritime trading route with south Indian Tamil kingdoms was already established since that time.[SUP][4][/SUP] The discoveries inBujang Valley also made the ancient Kedah as the oldest civilization of Southeast Asia.[SUP][5][/SUP]
Reference to ancient Kedah was first mentioned in a Tamil poem Paṭṭiṉappālai written at the end of 2nd century A.D. It described goods from Kadaram "heaped together in the broad streets" of Chola capital. Other than Kadaram, Kedah was known with different names at varying times in Indian literature; Kataha-Nagara (in Kaumudi Mahotsava drama), Anda-Kataha (in Agni Purana), Kataha-Dvipa (in Samarāiccakahā), and Kataha (in Kathasaritsagara).[SUP][[/SUP]

Renuka,

Science says light from the sun or your flash fall on the object and get reflected and reach the lens of your camera where it gets recorded through a chemical process or a digital process. A dancing object would get recorded as dancing and a static object would get recorded as static. What you have described is strange. Was it validated by some one else also from his/her experience? What did you eat/drink before engaging in that photo session? Can you upload the photo? Did you not become curious to explore this further? If not why? I stop my enna enna enna here for the present!!

Dear Vaagmi ji,

Yes..I was curious to explore further..so I asked my son to take a pic with his smart phone and he was able to do so right away.

It was only me who could not take that image with my digital camera but next to that Idol there was another figurine ..that I could take but only Boddisattva was not focusing for me.

It does make you wonder why..but after a while one might start to think may be its one of those things that can not be explained ..the image was just not staying still on the camera screen...I had to take a few steps backwards and tried to focus and after sometime I was able to take a far shot which was not all that clear.

Since you asked what I ate and drank before taking the pic...I ate a plain Dosa and drank a glass of milk.

BTW the Museum was putting up some small items for sale..some old coins of the Cholan era dated some 1000 years old..too and some people there were scared to buy it..thinking there could be some ghost etc.

Then the museum employee told everyone that these coins are not "haunted"..dont worry etc.

Then he told me and my husband(cos we were the only Indians there at that time)..these coins are safe but some of the idols in the museum have a life of their own.

I wonder what he meant by that but I did not want to ask him cos he was not a Hindu so beliefs could differ.

Here might be a solution to mystery of the Moving Bodhisattva idol .

Mystery behind rotating 4000-year-old Egyptian statue solved
Washington, Nov 21 (ANI): The mystery behind a 4000-year-old Egyptian statue that was caught on camera rotating for no apparent reason has finally been solved.

Curators at Manchester Museum in the UK were confused by the 25cm statue, which was made in about 1800BC, when it began to move without any apparent intervention.

The statue was created as a medium for the soul of an ancient Egyptian man called Neb-Senu. Some enthusiastic observers had even suggested Neb-Senu's spirit was moving the artefact.

But that theory has been trumped by a more scientific explanation.

The British TV program Mystery Map, which investigates mysterious stories, enlisted vibration expert Steve Gosling to place a special three-axis sensor under the statue's cabinet to pick up the vibrations from passing footsteps and traffic.

Gosling found the statue's movement coincided with the vibrations. When foot traffic stopped overnight, the statue stopped rotating. (ANI)

hi
generally muslim ruling countries have their own agenda....still so called secular turkey has majority muslims...muslims follow shariat/

taliban type laws...but christian ruled countries try to convert other religious denominations....not to destroy the temples...

muslims destroy phisically...christian destroy mentally....

muslims destroy phisically...christian destroy mentally....

Let me modify what you said:

muslims destroy physically...christian destroy mentally...Hindus destroy themselves strategically!LOL( by having a birth based divisions)

Only varna division, whether birth based or guna based, has preserved sanatana dharma. The english and religion based invaders have worked hard to destroy this but without success. Since more and more educated class from all varnas are reinventing their glorious past and values, the future will be self sustaining.

Renuka,

I think you lost a golden opportunity to understand the phenomena which revealed itself to you. You should have been more curious and should have investigated further.

Dear Vaagmi ji,

OK tell me what else can I do?

There is a Boddhisattva idol which is in front of me..the Idol is steady to the naked eye but thru the lenses of the Camera its keeps dancing..what to do yaar?

If something is dancing it should dance whether I view it with my naked eyes or thru the camera isn't it?

So you tell me what else should I have done?

All I did after that was to bow down to the idol and left.

What else can be done? Quite a lot.

1. Is it camera specific. I can borrow the camera of another visitor there and verify this.

2. Is it person specific. I can give my camera to some one else and find out.

3. Is it time specific. I can go spend some time around and then come back and see whether this effect continues still.

4. Is it position specific. I can keep the distance same climb on something and take a shot from a steep/wider angle.

5. Is it specific to individual? I can hide behind someone and try to take a shot.

6. Is it a rare incident - one very specific to me alone. I can make enquiries with other museum keepers (the oldest one will be authentic) to find out whether anyone else has reported a similar experience.

7. Was I specifically tuned to receive such imaginary episodes. Let me scrutinise what all processes went through my mind for the last two days which can be interpreted as a portent. Did I do anything special that day to invite this kind of an experience.

8. Is there other statues in that museum which too give me a similar experience? Let me explore.

A few more can be added.
