Angry Husband: (waiting for his wife to purchase Saree) I think those early days Adam was lucky, Eval was using only Leaves!!

Wife: you never know how many trees Adam would have climbed to pluck a suitable Leaf!!!

P.J. Sir,

Ladies selecting a saree in a textile shop is not something like purchasing a match box. In fact, it is an important event which gives them pleasure, joy and fun put together.

With great effort, they get their spouse’s appointment which will be fixed with much reluctance, later they decide the time, normally a peak time when there will be more crowd both inside the shop and around and finally, decide the location, for example,T.Nagar, Mount Road, Adyar, etc

Having decided all these, when they make an entry into the shop, they will think about the fashion fabric, for example, Silk, Cotton, Chiffon, Satin etc and then comes the variety viz. Phochampally, Venkatagiri, Kancheepuram, Mysore, etc.

The next stage is design i.e. Traditional, Indian, etc Later switch over to colour, pink, magenta, cream, gold, lavender, etc

Then with or without zari, embroidery, border, thread, print, etc

And finally when they are about to settle, budget thing will come to the mind and stand in the way of finalizing the saree and in this case either of them have to compromise.

All these factors, viz, location, brand, shop, fabric, colour, design and above all finally the budget, everything plays a crucial role whilepurchasing a saree which is one of the things that adds elegance to them and hugs them always!

In such a nice situation, how can an Husband be angry? He should not forget that a saree also got 'PALLU' :-)

And when you see their (wife's) faces brightly lit after the purchase(as if no one in the world has got the intelligence to buy that particular stuff at that throw away rate) it will make the husband's anger melt away!

Krish Ji,

People come to T.Nagar for purchase with lot of expectation, viz better quality, more choice, reasonable price as there is competition, etc.

But some of these business houses never seems rise up to customers’ expectation by delivering quality products. As you told, one needs to be very alert, attentive and check every product and its quality while shopping.

There are few shops here, where sarees purchased will shrink to four yards on washing or else prove to have different colour!!

Products once sold will not be taken back – that is their mantra.
