Art of persuasion

We have seen many cases of persuasion - from the leaders to promote their parties, policies, from the media to promote a change in faith, culture, values, from market on promoting their products, from women's rights activists that women can do anything etc.

Science of Persuasion

We indirectly get trapped/brainwashed by these persuasive ideas. Our current state of modern India is completely driven by persuasion from people/organizations lacking values. Not only, is it hard to redirect the affected (in health, ethics, morals etc.), it is equally a burden for their good/ethical relatives.

What are your views about those techniques? And how can we (or modern youth) defend ourselves against them?
