Attack on sasthrikal

Manikanda Sastrigal, a temple priest in Tiruvaikavur near Swamimalai has been brutally attacked by 5 or 6 anti social elements belonging to PMK party on Sundayevening. He is admitted in ICU at Sugam Hospital, Kumbakonam. His condition is critical. His right side hand, leg is not working. He got a blood clot in his right side brain. FIR has been registered in Kabisthalam Police Station and only one person has been arrested till now. The parents of the attackers are seems to be the hi profile person in that area. The priest belongs to Salem. He has small 2 kids. Request all of you to please share this and try to get justice for this priest. Tamil Nadu is becoming a very unsafe place for brahmins to live.

The above is a news item appeared in yesterday's FB

there are some PPL in this FORUM think that racism is ONLY IN AMERICA..AND THINK THAT ALL BRAHMINS ARE VERY SAFE IN TAMIL NADU...

Poor priest..hopefully he recovers without any residual effect of his injury.

But he looks rather stable for a person with a blood clot in his brain...in the pic he is not even on oxygen.

May be he had a concussion and not really a blood clot.

Hopefully he gets well soon.

1. attack on brahmins is not racism. Yesterday I was driving through CM's residence, a big crowd with a dozen brahnins in traditional dress and with puja plates and garlands waiting outside to bless her and offer prayers on her behalf to 'ammans', on her beginning her campaign for the next week's election. Stray cases of attack by black shirt lumpens are deplorable and condemnable.

2. Now it is from horse's mouth. Racism is in the DNA of americans, says OBAMA, in response to the recent attack on churches.

The expatriates must concentrate on their adopted land for a secure life and future. If hindus find life unbearable and unsafe, bharat will take them in, as promised by the present govt.

Any attack on a christian or muslim or dalit gets media attention and forward community gets all the blame. i am sure local hindu outfits will help manikanda sastrigal.

Self protection is the best protection...If you are Brahmin & in Tamil Nadu you should carry a gun or a sharp knife...The Sikhs are no more needled in North India after the incidents in the 80's...

Many hindu organizations - vhp, hindu munnani and brahmin associations are now ready to take up such issues - a) to provide help and b) to fight the cause by approach to authorities. getting max exposure in the friendly social media is necessary. help will come from unexpected quarters.

Thiruvaikavur temple priest who was attacked by anti social elements within the jurisdiction of Kabisthalam police station in Tanjore Dt died today unfortunately.
The brutal attack on this innocent temple priest and prohit has become a murder of our brother Sri Manikndan. The police have already arrested and remanded all the five accused.

May his soul Rest in Peace.

Did any local newspapers report this item?

Sir,

I think this was not reported in any of the local news paper.

Probably they would have thought that this item is not so sensitive and deserve any attention.

Even in this TB Forum only few have viewed this tragic incident message ( viewed by 218).

And how many warriors have come forward to condemn this act of ..........?

Are we prove best only in debates......?

No word of condolence.....?

Why dont two investigations be carried out?

1)Against the people who caused his death.

2)Medical reasons.

I did comment earlier that for a person with a blood clot in the brain..he seems to be in a normal ward with no oxygen for him..most people with a blood clot in the brain need ICU observation and probably need neurosurgery.

Why was the late Manikandan just lying down in a normal ward and not in ICU?

Was money an issue that he could not have further treatment?

Even from the pic above..I find it hard to believe someone who is critical was allowed to lie in a normal ward and not even administered oxygen or ventilatory support.

Which hospital is this?

Its easy to say to move on cos the victim is not related to anyone of us.

Would anyone of us say move on if the victim is a blood relative?

Has anyone seen how a patient with blood clot in his/her brain suffers and die?

BTW there will be answers if the questions are asked.

Why dont this matter be brought up to the PM directly?

I am sure the pro Hindu groups wont view this lightly.

I feel TB groups and Hindu organizations should organize a peaceful protest outside the office of the CM or PM if possible.

Speak up or be left out..fear takes no one anywhere.

Only those who have fear in their hearts say 'move on".

Doctor Mam,

You did expressed your hope that the victim gets well soon. You have empathy among all other good qualities.

But unfortunately he died.

Doctor Mam,

A case has been registered and the police have taken up investigation. A group is pursuing the same.

And you are right that something has to be done to put an end to such atrocities committed on Brahmin priests.

Now the question is 'who is to bell the cat'.

hi

we like it or not............YAHAAM SAB KUCH CHALTA HAI....THIS IS AATITUDE.....JIS KE PAASS LAATTI....USKA BAINS..

The only piece of news item I could 'google' is this;

Kumbakonam Priest Dies In 5 Member Gangster Attack - Thanthi TV

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=65&v=_IwVFgukpSI

Going by the news item, it does not look like a hate-crime, but something stranger:
The temple priest apparently doubles up as a Sastrigal for wedding performance.
One group of people wanted him to perform a wedding ceremony, but the Sastrigal
had a prior commitment to another wedding function elsewhere at the sametime, so
he declined the request which infuriated the gang. From the news item, he did not
appear to suffer any head injury, which would explain the hospital environment Madam
Renuka was commenting about. Looks like the ******* has lodged a complaint.

Our sympathies also to the family of the deceased. Is there any way to help the family?

hi

******* can help the family and education to the kids.....many volunteers may be ready to help....

Nobody will come forward to bell the cat. Tamil brahmins will run away from the scene even if an urchin shout at them a mere word "Daai",and you want them to become warriors. HaHa.
