Attack on sasthrikal

Doctor Mam,

A case has been registered and the police have taken up investigation. A group is pursuing the same.

And you are right that something has to be done to put an end to such atrocities committed on Brahmin priests.

Now the question is 'who is to bell the cat'.

Dear Sir,

Violence on anyone be it Brahmin or Dalit or anyone else in between should not be condoned.

This goes along the lines of "casteism" and can be considered a variant of racism though some may not agree that India too has various forms of "racism' like casteism.

As a person residing in another country I cant do much..but I just emailed HJS for their information.

That is all I can do from my part.

. From the news item, he did not
appear to suffer any head injury, which would explain the hospital environment Madam
Renuka was commenting about. Looks like the ******* has lodged a complaint.

Our sympathies also to the family of the deceased. Is there any way to help the family?

What is the cause of death if there was no serious head injury?

Any idea?

may god give strength to the berieved family. Let us all try to give moral/economical support to the affected family.Perpetrators to be booked and the progress of the case may be monitored by local branch of TAMBRAM.

Nobody will come forward to bell the cat. Tamil brahmins will run away from the scene even if an urchin shout at them a mere word "Daai",and you want them to become warriors. HaHa.

PSN Ji,

I disagree with your statement.

You cannot generalize TBs. There are bold, brave and fearless among us.

We had great personalities like Army Chief Sundarji and Air Force Chief Krishnasamy, etc. And there were and there are lot personalities heading Police Department as Director Generals of Police, Inspector Generals of Police, etc

And we have many serving in Defence protecting the country and in Police Department, the primary duty of which is maintaining law and order, preventing crime etc among other duties.

Every one has a hidden warrior personality in them which includes you.:-)

Unfortunately, we are numerically inferior and suffer for want of unity among us.

Above all most of us believe and practice 'கத்தியை தீட்டாதே உன் புத்தியை தீட்டு' policy.

P.S: Such incidents of attack mostly takes place against a single TB by an organised gang!. Think about it.

PSN Ji,

There is now AMK and already there is *******. Let us all join together first and think about fighting for our rights next.:-)

Let us thank Praveen Ji for providing this Forum.

As for unity among us, the subject was already discussed in this Forum way back in 2007. Just go through the following link:

An individual Brahmin is brave. He strikes terror on the minds of his opponents. But when two such brave men join together, their bravery is only 50%. When more Brahmins join, the bravery point goes still lower.

brahmin priests could avoid staying in remote places where there is no guarantee of security.

such attacks could happen to anyone in isolated places .

as far as possible brahmin families could stay near each other even in cities.

when a community feels threatened , there is no protection than strength due to staying together .

in most cities in india , people of similar sects, caste groups, religion feel secure in each others company

This is yet another usual typical funny posting by the poster for the sake of count, 'Activity Award', etc

He has to necessarily come out of his dreamworld.

Only a couple of months back, a Brahmin priest staying at the heart of Chennai City was attacked.

Where else under the sun the poster wants the Brahmins to stay?

Is Delhi Safe place for Brahmins? For girls it is not safe place I know?

In delhi brahmin may not be safe if that person is a girl/woman also . there are some brahmin girls in delhi . they are also treated like other girls and as much vulnerable to

molestation and attacks.

when men get attacked in lonely /isolated places ,the attacker does not check whether he is a brahmin. he does assess if he some money or other valuables on him

In the both the cases it is not an attack for gain. It is to settle a score.

Without knowing the history, background, cause, reason, etc the member jumps into hasty conclusion.

It is better for the poster to spare some thought, exercise some study, research, etc on the subject before vomiting his mind.

The family of sastrigal has to be taken care of and adequately compensated...His children need to be given good education...This is an opportunity for the Thambras to reach out to the Vanniar sangam and reach an amicable settlement..I do not think the Vanniar outfit is anti brahmin..In any case the culprits have to be punished

Very sad to know Sri Manikandan passed away by the brutal attack of anti social elements. May his soul rest in peace.

if somebody has settled a score with another what has brahminism has to do with it?

one of the party happens to be a brahmin thats all who made a choice whom he serve and whom he will not. . the person he did not serve assaulted him . his intent

whether he wanted to kill him is not clear.

indian laws are good enough to take care of such cases .
