Black money runs the political parties. If they reveal who their financiers are, the political parties will not get any more money to finance election campaigns. Modi's bravado was well-knowing this and Indians in their naivete believed his challenge. I can bet that no government will ever reveal the names of all black money hoarders.

Arun Jaitley in his press conference said that the names will be given to the investigating agencies and the names will be released after charge sheet is filed. This is the right approach and the govt will not sensationalize the issue. The SIT formed by the govt is working steadily with persistence. Any speculation at this stage is premature.

India will pursue black money, not adventurism: Jaitley

[FONT=&quot]A dayafter the government told the Supreme Court it can’t yet disclose the names ofpeople who have allegedly stashed their ill-gotten money in tax havens abroad,Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Saturday said the stand was in keeping with thedue process of law.

He saidthe Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government will not withhold anyinformation, including names of account holders. But they will be revealedafter following the due process of completing the probe and reachingconclusions.
“TheGermans strongly objected to this as a violation of the DTAA, which was enteredbetween Government of India and Germany on June 19, 1995. The present NDAGovernment has unfortunately inherited the legacy of that DTAA,” he said.

[FONT=&quot]“If wescrap the treaty, we get no further information. The covenant to the treaty isthat the names of the account holders and information received thereunder willonly be disclosed when charges are filed in court,” he said.

Narendra Modi shouted during his campaigning days that within 100 days of their party coming to power, he would bring all the black money back into India and will use it for launching many welfare measures. Now, it is more than 100 days and Modi sarkar is trying to shield all the crooks who have stashed black money abroad. Indian people have an elephantine memory and this will go against Modi & BJP, in any further modi-talk in future elections.

There can even be a bet that at the end of a long time this Modi sarkaar will reveal the names of a handful of small fry and then make a big splash out of it. That's all it will be capable of.

So, people should beware of being carried away by Modi-talks in future, bhaaiyon aur behnom!

Anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare has told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he will launch a campaign if black money stashed abroad is not brought back to the country. (File photo)


"Bringing back black money is an important issue before the nation. If needed, I won't shirk from organising an agitation on this matter," he said in the letter.

Reminding Modi of his promise made during Lok Sabha poll campaign about bringing back black money once voted to power, the Gandhian voiced displeasure over the government submitting before the Supreme Court that all information on it received from countries with which India has Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) cannot be disclosed.

"I have undertaken many agitations in the last 35 years. They were not against any party or individual but for the benefit of society and country," he said, adding "you (Modi) have a vast experience in power. I am a fakir and don't have any wealth. I will live and die for the country."


Hazare also said he had written to Modi on the issue of Lokpal in August but was still to receive a reply.

Cho predicted correctly in tuglak when annakejri movement was on that both are jokers, and the agitation will be for settling of scores and for personal gains. Kejri used Anna name to collect money and branch out for a short stint in politics, and made Anna insignificant, as many stalwarts left the movement. Let us hope he is not taken for a ride in the next attempt.

anna or kejriwal may not count for much . still it is clear that modi govt has back tracked on campaign promise.

it is a sell out of indian people.
