After rumors, leaked pictures, videos and official teases, Blackberry has finally announced what its first Android smartphone would cost.

The phone is available to preorder from Carphone Warehouse, and units would start shipping in November. As for the price, consumers would have to pay £579.99 unlocked, which is on the same price belt as the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6s, meaning that Blackberry is trying to compete on the same level as the bigwigs of the industry. Monthly plans start from £49 per month.
The phone itself would have a 5.5 inch quad-HD display, a powerful Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM. 32GB storage and a 18MP/5MP Camera setup.

Its highlight, of course, would be the hardware keyboard with the usual QWERTY layout. The phone would be running Android Lollipop (5.1), and it would mostly be stock, with some Blackberry security features. With the Stagefright Android vulnerability going around, this obviously won’t be the most secure smartphone Blackberry has made.

Now this is the phone that will make or break Blackberry. If it tanks, Blackberry would shutter its hardware division, as per its CEO.

What do you think? Can Blackberry stand out among millions of Android phones?
