I would not like to use the terms like Chastity, adultery which are freely used here. There is nothing holy about chastity and nothing unholy about adultery in the context of an individual known only to the involved souls. If they are to come to the public domain, then it affects the society. and society will disapprove of it. While the individual is concerned about only the next few years, society is about centuries.
So, having said that, let us take a look at the woman sexuality. A woman has as much right as the man to be proud of her sexuality. She has to be aware of her body, system and its demands. She has also to satisfy those demands to live happily.
Since time immemorial there has been instances of woman sexuality expressing itself boldly and loudly. We have instances of women unsatisfied with what was available within the bounds of a marriage looking for relief and looking for finding their momentary heaven on earth outside the marriage.
There are women who have met with their accident of a marriage with a man whose interests and passions are outlandish or whose interests and passions are just less than a zero. This results in a life which becomes a drudgery. Every day dawns as the dreaded arrival of another tonne of burden that has to be lived out.
There are also women who have to handle every day and night a husband who is sold on opiates and alcohol. Such women if they happen to be very sensitive types would certainly look for alternative solutions.
There are women who are intellectuals or brilliant artists whose sharpness of intellect or the creativity that comes with arts meeting with totally insensitive morons for husbands. Such women are keenly aware of their sexuallity and dares to break traditional barriers and get free.
Every such woman can not become a member of a car key club and get relief from a blind date.
So such deliberately chosen accidents do happen and will continue to happen.
The fiction drama of Kovalan, Kannagi and Madhavi which has been discussed here is also a story of such a heart-rending dilemma of a woman and man . Madhavi was a multifaceted personality and was a very accomplished young woman and Kovalan had a common frequency with her to oscillate. It was waiting to happen and it happened. Madhavi as well as Kovalan found something in each other which they could not find in others. That is briefly the story and the rest of the narrative is just drama.
So let us get out of the chastity/adultery mindset and look at it as a genuine problem of the involved pathetic men and women.
At the society level of course a marriage is sacrosanct. We can not have adultery within the marriage as normal. Then we will have to discuss a whole lot of other similar things here including sodomy and that is prohibited.
