Last Sunday I went to my nearest provisional store to purchase a shampoo bottle. I usually purchase a bigger one just to avoid including it every month in the bill.
To my surprise, the shop had all three variants. A sachet, a mini bottle, and a large bottle. So I usually compare weight vs price for most of the commodities I purchase. When I checked all three variant prices, it was really shocking for me.
180ml shampoo cost Rs.150 and 80ml cost Rs.68.
It was more or less the same deal.
This is the price of the sachet. 6ml cost Rs.2, which means 6ml × 30 sachets = 180ml.
30 sachets × 2 = Rs. 60.
Are we paying the extra Rs.90(150–60) for the bottle?
The difference was huge considering the value of the product. This is literally taking money from one's pocket. I feel it is the money people pay just because of their laziness to do this simple maths. This should be the way for most of the products, i believe. And for a few others, the vice verse works. Larger the quantity, reasonable the price.
Let's spend a few more minutes while purchasing because after all, we pay/save our hard-earned money.
Thanks & Cheers!
