Truth hurts and Indians in general, due to low self esteem always blame others for any problem. This forum should not worry about America or other countries, rather suggest how and by which mean can improve the life of Brahmans(if hey allow). The idea “we are superior” notion and behavior is found in the immigrant Indians in USA (according to my friends there) - they said there are only two types of Indians in USA- arrogant, selfish, uncultured and abusive group and the other gems of knowledge and real contributors.

Also we had been invaded by Mohammedans, British and so on, thus we still have the slave mentality. We do not tolerate due to jealousy to go up and this is still prevalent in Brahman community. People who help Brahmans are indeed other castes and I have about 30 cases to prove it.



So, like Sri Goplan is doing a great service - marriage, death ceremony mantras sharing, let us collect our ancestral wisdom and share here. We can correct the mistakes, but that is how we can leave a legacy. Let us not worry about how individuals feel about other countries and culture, let the historian worry about it.



How if an individual feels about another country does not solve our problems. That looks more like political blame and that should be in political field. Brahman population is already dwindling and let us try to improve the future generation by illustrating Brahman’s achievements and give hope to younger generation. Most Brahman boys in big cities in Tamilnadu in many ways copy the other communities to fit into it even though they can not get any government help. In this forum only old people are crying wolf and venting their anger and frustration. Bright Brahmans with good hearts heart always appreciated by other states in India.

So, please list the names of the best Brahmans you know or have heard about them, list their achievements, hardships and contribution to human society. Let us create the past and present Brahman historical achievements. That will be very useful to younger generation. Rest will be taken care of by HIM/Her!



Example of arrogance : There is a Laxmi temple in Irving, Texas. It was started by about 100 South Indians (all castes) and one Yagna Rama Deshitar ( son of the brother of Sengalipuram Anantharama Deshitar) was the priest (now diseased). The temple was taken over by Gujarathis. There was one Dr. Shaw(Medical) who told in one meeting that “our Sastras do not say that menstruating women cannot perform puja in temple”. So, we should allow women to perform puja. There were many south Indian Brahman members in the meeting none opposed it. But one Dr. Ram (Tamil Brahman) asked r. Shaw- Sastras do not tell that you cannot marry your sisters or mothers, so is your wife was your mother or sister? Shaw ran away. But one Kerala PPalgat Brahman Mr Ramanathan (accountant, late) told every one that Mr. Ram is always fighting in the meetings? !! The same temple and Meenakshi temple in Houston, Texas had Mutayyaa Stapathi as advisor. He told the Meenakshitemplee authority, even though Meenakshi is the Moola deivam, Sundersann should have bigger Gopuram! This is against Agama sastra – who ever is the Moola Deivam, will have taller Gopuram. The list is a long one. The point is, most Indians with a limited higher studies in the USA fails to understand our religious believes and false standards and thus are creating a pseudo Hinduism there, which is much more dangerous than the Americans who conquered the USA when they had guns against the naive Indians. The same story is about Spaniards with gun destroying the whole South America. History is full of brutality.

The D/FW Hindu Temple was conceived by a group of devotees back in 1981. As an auspicious beginning for the formation of the Temple Society, Sri Satyanarayana Puja was performed in December 1982,. Subsequently, in 1983, a Constitution was adopted that laid the basic foundation for the management of the temple. Basically, the constitution provided for a panel of trustees and a team of officers headed by a President in addition to an executive committee to assist in the day to day operations of the temple. The constitution provided for the necessary guidelines for the election of each member of the management team and their functions.

In August of 1984, eight acres of land in the Parker County was purchased with the intention of building the temple there but the progress was slow for lack of funds and community interest. However, a facility in Plano was rented in March 1987 to temporarily accommodate the few devotees who expressed a need for a place of worship. After considerable research into the needs of the community, it was decided that the Parker County land was too far to serve conveniently the Hindu community of the metroplex. A place that is convenient for devotees from both Fort Worth and Dallas was sought. This consideration lead to selling the land in Parker County and purchasing the land in Irving in June of 1988. There was no time wasted after this purchase. The Bhumi Puja was performed in July of 1988 by Sant Murari Bapu and in November 1988, the temple operation was moved from Plano to the old house that stood on the land in Irving. Less than three years later, on April 28, 1991, the new Temple, Ekta Mandir, was inaugurated.

There is nothing called Lakshmi Temple in Irving Texas. Officially the Temple is called The D/FW Hindu Temple is also known as EKTA MANDIR.
For people who do not know Hindi Ekta= Unit, And you are sowing the seed of Dis-unity.

Most of the murtis in this Temple are carved White Marble in the style of the North Indian Temple.
The main pujari is a North Indian, to accommodate south Indian they also have south Indian priests.

You can also verify that Muthaiya spathai did not put a window for the Meenakshi's Drishti on the city and later it was added. The Meenakshi's Gopuram is less taler than Sunderewarar. They did not have waster abishegam waer ot goo out. So, later they did remove it by drilling a big whole. My cousin lives in USA and he showed document.
Just because you live in USA does not mean that searching web give you information. Please visit Irving (DFW) and see for your self. You will see that marble statutes of Rama is shorter in height thatn Seetha. You will see the Moolasthanam is is not 13'x13, rather 11'x11' becuase one Dr. Boopala who on behalf of Andra society got installed a Balaji next to Marble Maxalaxmi (original offer of white Granite Maxalaxmi that can be washed (abishekam) was accepted, but the Gujrati group got the Marble statute, no more abishekam). They did not have water escape on abishekam, thus were forced to drill a hole in the wall similar to Muthaiya Stapathi's plan. They allowed women to enter the sanctom sanctorium, one woman's sari got fire and now they have gates. No Karpura Harati becasue no way to remove smoke and smudge on the wall. A big Gujarati Garba Hall in front of the Temple.
