1. a profane or obscene expression of anger, disgust, surprise, etc; oath
2. an appeal to a supernatural power for harm to come to a specific person, group, etc
3. harm resulting from an appeal to a supernatural power: to be under a curse.
4. something that brings or causes great trouble or harm
5. a saying, charm, effigy, etc, used to invoke a curse
6. (Ecclesiastical Terms) an ecclesiastical censure of excommunication.
7. (Physiology) the curse informal menstruation or a menstrual period
Every mythology is full of people cursing and being cursed.
No one is spared: Inanimate objects, Animals, humans, gods are all get cursed by someone or the other. If all those curses were to come true there will be no order at all. The world as we know would not exist.
If curses were effective Trump or Modi can not function. Similarly, when you are driving on the road and people behind you are cursing, it is simply expressing their frustration, It has no consequence on the person being cursed at. It just impacts the person who is cursing.
The Hindu religion is not immune to this either. People believe it and keep repeating it as if it is true.
There is a new thread about it in a different section about it.
There might have been some significance to it or it was meant to convey some message, but now the reason is unknown. So it has no meaning.
Is there any scientific proof that Cursing works?
I personally do not believe in the efficacy of blessing or cursing. Thinks happen because of Karmas.
I do regret my action that drew the ire of another person, I would try not to do it again. But I do not care about their blessings or curses.
If someone excommunicated me from the Temple, I would recent it, but it will not hurt me, and i could save some money too.
