Three more bodies have been recovered from northeast Delhi, the Delhi Police has confirmed to news agency ANI. One has been found in a canal in Gokalpuri and the rest two were found from Bhagirathi Vihar Canal.
So far, five bodies have been found from the same area where IB officer Ankit Sharma’s body was found. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. It is also to be confirmed whether they died in the violence.
In the violence that shook the conscience of the entire country, the Delhi Police has registered 167 FIRs and has detained 885 people. About 92 houses, 57 shops, 500 vehicles, six godowns, two schools, four factories and religious places were burnt down during the riots. The schools in the riot-hit areas will also remain closed till March 7 in view of the prevailing tensed situation. CBSE exams will be held as scheduled from March 2 in the violence-hit areas.
