dear mr. P.J,
Honestly today I went through the list of posts and realized that you have enriched this section sincerely. In the past I did not have very high opinion since the views would be discouraging and the replies disastrous (if they happen to be there)
I will surely catch up with all you have posted soon enough and become up to date in chit chat.
It is a promise. :)

VR Madam

in every section there are useful posts, and if you read only General section posts and Literature post, you will be missing many thought provoking posts in other section.

Why this discrimination? In what way posts in General section are more intelligent than posts in other sections?
I frankly do not like each one fighting with another thinking their knowledge is superior to other, it is happening only in General section.

Even in Humor section i post only good ones!!

VR Madam

I always have great respect for you; but please do not think people waste time by posting in chit chat section
Raji madam is doing a good service by posting many ideas in this section, do you think it is a waste of time?

I do not post any videos which is not useful to the members, it is all based on current topics; Also my posts in other sections like Share your knowledge, or SAI LIVES, Politics , Religion, not posted just to waste someone's time.

You have a biased mind Madam, i am very sorry to say this.
The same post dharamam when posted in General section, you go to the extend of appreciating and writing a poem, but you refuse to accept the same post if it is appearing in Chit Chat section.
How many of your poems are on current and social topics like Child labor, Cheating Atto Richsha Man, Good auto rickrickshaw man, about Spell bee/ about matters concerning young girls, Chit fund cheating public/ and many more.

You write poems based on Puranic stories and forget that there is another world currently not concerned about it.

dear Mr. P.J,

I am not biased even an iota.

My time is very very limited and I have a tight schedule to stick to.

Menfolk would never understand the problems a woman faces when she wants to take up a hobby or a career.

I am juggling my precious time in my chores, my bad health, daily production of poems (reading + preparing the rough copy + fair copy + typing in Tamil + translation).

EVERYONE is discussing the current issues.

So I decided to concentrate on something which no one else does here.

How many of us know the stories in Puranams?

In fact I myself do not know what I am writing now, till I read, learned and understood it, IN ORDER TO present it in the forum as a poem.

There is a lot of difference IN serving HOT what had been painstakingly prepared by someone else and doing the preparation by oneself ...starting from the scrap.

If we take care of the thoughts and actions comparing them with the morals from the puraanaas the unrest in the present time may actually reduce.

Shall I tell you a fantastic news? Yesterday some person in Singapore had read 109 posts in Kandapuranam

I wish I could find out who it is just to thank him/her.

Puraanaas holds lessons which we are forgetting fast. I am doing my humble bit in reviving them.

Those who do not want to learn from the past but want to discuss only on the future and present may skip my poem thread.

I always believe firmly that whether a person reads or not what I write,
I will not be the loser.

Thanks for letting me open up my heart. :pray2:

P.S.
Sitting in the armchair and worrying about the world is good.
But worrying about one's requirements in one's home, family, food, health and then the world is even better.

dear Mr. P.J,
There is no discrimination at all.
Time factor decides what I do
and what I don't since I can't!
I missed writing my daily quota of
two poems since I replied to these posts.
EVEN I have only 24 hours a day!!! :clock:

Men can sit and worry about the world the whole day long

merely because a little old woman is there

in the background - the unsung heroine -

to worry about the house, home and family.

I am a Sai Devotee and convener of a Sai Bhjans

I treat everyone equally and never see minus points, that was the reason for me to pick up a number of exchanges with Raji Madam when she wrote poems criticizing US culture. Now she has changed very much.

Why i started liking your poems because you never criticized anyone in your poems.

But you have a very narrow view about posts in other section, which i wanted to point out.

I am 75, past likes and dislikes of my posts; I will do my service here just to keep my mind alert.

I am also posting in other sites, about Maha periyava, Moral stories, health related matters etc

I am also playing Chess on net just to keep my mind engaged.

WALKING and strict diet control is also followed by me.

I also spend time with our grand kids, Pray morning and evening.

Dear P J Sir,

All the comments about what I saw in the U S of A were written during my first visit in 2003.

F Y I, I have not changed any of my views even now!! :D

Raji madam

But you are not writing any poems criticizing them anymore..
Dear P J Sir,

Actually, I have not written any 'pudhuk kavithai' till I went to the U S of A. The cultural changes I saw

there made me write on one fine morning. Then I sent to my friends and they enjoyed those kavithais

about all the good and bad I saw in that country. Good points first and bad ones later!! When I joined

this forum in 2010, I posted them here. That is the story! No more comments now and that is it!

Dear all.

Yes, the short was specifically made to appeal to one's emotions.

Who is the real culprit in the short?

It is the guy who slaps the beggar around and thrusts the money in to the hands of the corrupt police, in my opinion.

That guy represents us all in India. We are him. He is the extreme example, but all of us, at one time or other, facing choices, have taken the similar path.

I blame the Mahatma for this, having inspired us to our higher ideals, but putting himself in the path of a bullet fired by a Hindu fanatic, dying, and leaving us to our basest behavior.

Regards,
KRS

dear Mr.K.R.S,

There are more than one culprits in the short film!

1. the corrupt policeman who had bribed heavily to get his job and tries to recover that money in every possible way, what he has spent on some powerful politician.

2. The honest policeman who detests the corrupt practices but compromises on his principles for the sake of his job security.

3. the father of the child who slaps hard the beggar but hands the money to the police to get put of trouble.

4. the man who rides a motor bikewithout proper documents but is willing to shell money to get out of trouble.

5. the flower vendor who is breaking the law (and knows that he will have bribe the police) and has in fact kept aside the bribing money ready!!!

I think the child and the real beggar are the two innocents in the film.

Everyone else is shady to some degree or other.

Dear Sis,

You have given the list of 'direct' culprits. There are indirect culprits too!

They are the politicians who are ABLE to provide jobs, by getting a bribe from those without merit!

The existence of such policemen who take bribe is 'creating' the characters like the father of that

child, the motorbike rider without proper documents, the flower vendor who can not afford to pay

rent for his shop and he also makes the honest policeman to deviate from his righteous path! But

the honest policeman shows his anger by slapping the motorbike guy! :)

Yes, Srimathi VR Ji madam,

I agree. But everything has a root cause. That is what I tried to point out - we, as personified by that callous man are the root cause. :)

Regards,
KRS

I think it is Dharmam which is at the core of all such callousness. India has too much of religion, temples, gods and showy religiosity including the many gurujis and godmen who parade, but people have very little humanity, civic sense, obedience to law and scruples. After all did not Rama save a bhakta Ramdas even though the latter misappropriated the king's treasury? Hence gods will, if given a share of the booty, save all these callous people in the same way. This is the prevailing mindset of most Indians.

So far we have heard about all corrupt and goons of Indian politics donating huge amount of money to Lord Tirupathi Balaji, but this time for a change an Indian entrepreneur based in the United States donated Rs 16 crore (~ 3 million USD) to the Lord on April 16, 2013. M Ramalinga Raju a US-based devotee who also happens to be a close relative of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) chairman Kanamuri Bapiraju donated Rs 16 crore and requested that Rs 11 crore be used to make a garland of gold and the remaining Rs 5 crore be utilized to construct a free-meal complex for pilgrims at Tiruchanur near Tirupati.

Well this was not all, Mr. Ramalinga Raju also expressed his willing to donate another Rs 65 lakh towards setting up of a dhyana mandir at Srivari Padalu (a place in Tirumala). With this donation Mr Raju became the single largest overseas donor in the records book of the temple.

which is why, thirupathi coffers are full of illicit black money..anonymous cash and gold, dropped into God's supposed coffers, so as to 'bribe' for the sins committed in procurring the bad wealth.

i used to envy the catholics when i was young. because my catholic friends used to be rogues, and proudly claim, that once they went to the priest and confessed their crimes, they got dispensation from their god. no such luck for the hindus, i would fume.

but then came to know about thirupathi...and now i wonder..because all those who dropped those tons of gold, apparently are prospering. no?
