My mother passed away couple of days ago. I’m with my brother for the next 2 weeks to perform the last rites. I would like to learn about all the rituals associated with death and why I am doing what I will be doing (homams, dhaanams, pindam, sodhakumbam etc). Are there any books that can help me here? For background, I am Tamil Iyer and I don’t have any deep understanding of Hinduism, philosophy etc
