Future Initiatives

Folks,

Here is a list of initiatives I have planned for in the immediate future or in the medium term:

1. How to maintain virginity before marriage and be faithful in a marriage?
2. How to balance between spending, saving and giving?
3. How to get rid of prejudices?

Your comments are welcome.
This virginity thing - what exactly would you mean by it, for whom is it applicable, and why?

All of them are tough nuts to crack... good luck..

One main issue with the 3rd point is that unless one is able to think independently, free of any influences, it is quite difficult to define what actions / thoughts constitute prejudices...

The intent is help developing finer qualities one of most difficult being true and faithful to one man or woman .

I strongly feel it is all in the mind and one can build a strong mind this is possible and a strong mind is the most valuable asset.

Yes I agree, the support for which is by logic

Wow..Sravna

What has virginity got to do with marriage?

I really do not get this.

Sex is a bodily function..just like eating, speaking, using hands and legs etc.

Sex is NOT a Virtue..neither it is a SIN.

Its just a bodily function.

I feel its up to the individual to decide when and how they would want to use their sexual function.

In fact we lose the virginity of everything the day we are born.

When we took our 1st breath..our lungs lost their virginity.

When we drank the 1st drop of milk..our mouth and digestive system lost its virginity.

When the body excreted the excretory organs lost its virginity.

When we took our 1st few steps...our limbs lost its virginity.

When we die..our body is destroyed..we lost every part of that too ..virginity too is lost.

So when it comes to sexual intercourse alone why is a big deal made of it?

Entire existence is NON VIRGINAL.

Only non existence can be VIRGINAL.

Dear Sravna,

I personally feel the human mind is not entirely capable of being faithful to anyone including self.

This one man one woman rule just confers some economical and emotional stability of the Stockholm kind.. but along the way anyone can feel tempted becos anything new releases neurotransmitters in the brain that make us feel all happy but this will reach baseline after a while.

So even if one is promiscuous eventually they would need to go beyond being addicted to pleasure.

In fact I feel what we term immorality is a prerequisite to spirituality.

An immoral person would understand spirituality better cos he/she knows how much he/she is addicted to the pleasures of the world and would eventually search for an unchanging state that does not give pleasure or pain.

Most moral upright people will never understand spirituality in the true sense.

Morality only knows right and wrong and adhere to right and not go beyond it.

Dear Renuka,

I am not talking of sex as only a bodily desire but something controlled by the mind. It is the mind that should exercise restraint. If the mind is strong you would automatically have the control. The one man or one woman rule would automatically be enforced.

Learning through personal experiences need not always be through physical experiences. It is possible for mind to see the truth without the physical experiences. If someone can guide people to bypass agonizing physical experiences, is it not desirable? But if the mind does not see the truth it will definitely seek physical experience to find out but I think there are cases we can help without that happening.

Sravna...why do you want to control everything...I feel let people use their body the way they want it as long its consensual.

I don't think most people feel sex or losing virginity or even extra marital affairs are agonizing.

Its pleasurable till its lasts...then who knows it could bring pain too..but you can not deny that when it lasted there was pleasure too.

So why complain?

Everything in this world comes with pleasure and pain.

BTW striving to control everything is usually a sign of extreme pain.

Dear Renuka,

If the acts of people had no effects on others or on the society nobody would bother. Anyone would let people whatever they wanted to. But ones actions do have impact on the society. And it is a chain reaction and can have adverse effects. In fact that is how the world has reached this current undesirable state.

Control is therefore necessary and when I talk of control I am not talking of controlling people but help people learn self control and control themselves. I do not see anything wrong in that?

Dear Sravna,

People are not brainless..they too know what they want and they too can handle their lives they way they want it to be.

Frankly speaking I wont want to learn self control from anyone else...that has to comes from me that too if I want it.

I do not see the need to deprive myself from life.

Dear Sravna,

No one can be 100% sure they can practice what they preach.

A person who swears they are faithful to their spouse ..one day might just fall in love with another.

So there is no way of telling.

So best is let others lead the life they desire as long there is no acute short term or long term self harm or harm to others.

Dear Renuka,

Trust me. There are people who really need help. They would be happy that they got the help. I believe it is my duty to offer what I can to people in any need.

Dear Renuka,

With Self control beyond a certain level you are very safe. The brakes subconsciously come in and I have experienced it myself several times. The initial steps are difficult and it is then I need someone needs help.

Dear Sravna,

Trust me and believe me...you are not in control...you are only interested in exerting control on self and everyone else.

Over indulgence in self control can actually lead to violence.

Purity itself can become violent.

So just let people live the way the feel they want too.

You cant change the world and there is no one prescription that can fit all.

Best judge is still self.

Sravna..God did not create a human in self destruct mode..everyone has some degree of control..even a psychopath might have certain self control that can put anyone else to shame.

Frankly speaking there is no actual 100% self control...we humans only make different choices.

Like yesterday I had attended a seminar and during the break... heavy calorie laden food was served and everyone was eating it but there was a bowl of whole green apples.

So I took 2 green apples and drank a glass of soya milk.

Some asked me "are you on a diet?"

I said no.

Then they ask me but how can you resists food served when its free...you must be exerting self control.

I said No..I am just making a healthier choice.

So likewise Sravna...self control is not actually possible...its just making better choices...we humans still are dual in nature.

When there in only one and no other option we cant handle it and become stressed..when we have more than one option we feel as if we have self control when we make a healthier choice.

I am increasingly inclined to the opinion that Sravna is becoming stubbornly parochial to his own worldview. The way he tosses casually, ideas and actions into "right" and "wrong", is worrying.

Dear Renuka,

I think we are living in two different realities. I have no problem with that. I have gone through a stage where I was lacking in self control though not my nature but due to some health problems and I have reached a stage where I am in total control of myself. So I have both the experiences and know first hand how it feels in both the cases.

When you vent your anger you feel you are in control but you are not. The venting of anger may give you a feeling of relief but you have failed to think with clarity and have been clouded in your views.

Self control is nothing but the ability that allows you to be not clouded and think with clarity. I certainly think it is a positive trait and would on any and every day love to possess it.

I have to agree with this.

Dear Auh,

Strong words mean little when not supported by logic. I try to give reason for my remarks.

My view is that there is greater right by which I mean something that benefits many and in an enduring way. If you would like to object to this kindly give your reasons.

Dear Sravnaji,

Here are the quick solutions (on a lighter vein) Ideas on a serious look at your post will follow:

1. Set up factories all over the country for manufacture of chastity belts for men and women and supply them free. Enact a law that prohibits people living without a chastity belt on.

2. Vote for pure communists. No need to bother about money. Each will contribute his efforts for production according to his ability and each will draw from the stocks according to his needs. Money will disappear and the need to save, spend or give will also vanish. So vote for communism.

3. Be a recluse. Don't meet people. When you do not meet people, there will be no need to form impressions that lead to prejudices. You can live in your own paradise.

Dear Vaagmi Ji,

Clever ideas and might work because quick fixes are taken seriously and serious efforts are taken lightly.

Dear Sravna,

But why do you want people to stop having lustful sex?

Dear Renuka,

Wanting to have sex is really a state of mind. It demands the highest level of mental control to exercise restraint in having sex and so be faithful to one's partner. That is the reason I want to work on it.
