Lately, we have been seeing technology being embedded into everything, wrapped under an Internet of Things phenomenon. Even if it doesn’t make sense, manufacturers are just selling old wine in a new bottle.

When you look at this landscape of companies leveraging the Internet of Things as a way of repackaging products, you often forget where the IoT movement originated. The concept itself was born among creative makers who found that embedding technology into everyday devices was really useful.

Even as companies enter the space, this maker IoT movement is still going strong. In fact, Google’s Max Braun has made an Android-powered mirror that pulled information from Google Now and accepted voice commands. All he needed to pull this off was a Fire TV Stick, a display and a two-way mirror.

All in all, it seems pretty nifty and cool. What do you think?
