Help with vedic reference for family member with menstrual cycle

I don't know about the precaution on Amavasa day as per vedic but surely it is not advisable to go to temple when you travel along in a car if you are really have faith in tradition. Otherwise people will come and say it is old school of thoughts.

I have family member with menstrual period. during amavasai tarpanam, any precaution or things advised as per vedic tradition?
also can we travel as family to holy place make that particular person sit in car and others go to temple?
The term Vedic tradition is used loosely and there are no standards. If you analyze most ordinary rituals performed even by a competent Sastrigal you may find less than 5 percent Vedic mantras. Mostly they may recite passages from Smrithi texts most of which are inane snd have lost their relevance. Even Smruthis may make up only 30 to 40 percent of chanting.

Rest is made up by various people adopting customs based on puranic texts. These are mostly not authentic texts because only certain Puranas like Srimad Bhagavatham have deeper significance in terms of stories conveying truths from Upanishads.

Then a remaining percentage is formed by local practices and customs. One priest started the idea of offering dry fruits as oblation. There is a following for this habits.

Not trying to challenge your wish to follow traditions. Our Dharma and Moksha sastras are never in conflict with common sense. But in today’s world one feels fine chanting without understanding. The priest also has not studied Sanskrit with Vyakaranam enough to ensure grammatically correct expressions or understand the meaning which must often chant wrongly. The onlookers watching like spectator sports look on without understanding what is chanted.

And then there are very bad practices sanctified by saying Vedic traditions. It is all a travesty.

If you are open to reason then here is my take. Most likely you will dismiss them. But here it is anyway.

In these days women can protect themselves well with sanitary napkins etc. They are inherently not defiled for menturation is a natural process.

You do your rituals after learning to chant correctly and after learning the meaning and significance. Don’t yield to superstitious stories because an invalid Purana like Garuda Purana is cited.

The lady can function normally.

If she is clean after taking shower and is well protected with sanitary napkins etc then she can come to temple with you to commune with God. Making her feel like outcaste in the car is cruel.
