Mizoram is a christian state, so claims the church and tacitly approved by the state and central governments. Major denomination observes sabbath on sunday, some on saturday.

"A statement signed by Synod moderator Rev Thangzauva and Synod secretary "Upa" (elder) DP Biakkhuma says, "The Presbyterian Church Synod appeals to all people of Mizoram to refrain from any sporting activities on Sundays as Mizoram is a Christian state and Sunday is a sacred and important day for Christians." It, however, expressed happiness over the success of Mizo youth in sports. The statement added, "The church appeals to all people to respect our sacred day."

Wow!

So far we Hindus have never imposed our believes on others and impose any ban for anything.
We Hindus are good yaar...we are very understanding and peace loving.
People should be more like us Hindus.

BTW how can a Christian State exists in a Secular Country?

India is supposed to be Secular right?

So what is this so called Christian State?!LOL

And what is the problem?

Let Christians go to church on Sundays and let everyone else do as they please.

Why should others be in doors on Sundays?

hi
generally INDIAN SECULAR means support christianity/islam and other religions.....and degarde or against hinduism....those

who talk against hinduism/hindus are called INDIAN SECULAR definition.....

Absolutely Correct TBS Sir. Actually Dr.Renukaji, secularism is exactly what TBS has said. Shri.Mulayam Singh while lending his support to Congress says he does not want communal forces, meaning those who support Hindus, to come to power. Here in TN, while all the channels were telecasting programmes on Vinayaga Chaturthi days as "special programme on account of VC day", Ex-CM channel says " on account of Holiday declared this special programme"... they will not even utter "vinayaka Chaturthi" in their channel, but will put" speicla programme on account of Ramzan" special programme on account of Christmas "etc...
Hindu hating is at its worst in TN and still people support their channels & parties leaning on this pillar of hate campaign.....

The word 'secular' is not part of the original constitution, but added in an amendment by indira gandhi during emergency. Most of the amendments are due to political compulsions, including extension of reservation to more groups and extending the deadline for discontinuance.

A sensible government will roll back the amendments and revert to the original.

Most of the people of North Eastern states in India do not Identify themselves with India and feel that they were added to the Indian Union forcibly after the Britishers left .That is why there is lot of insurgency in NE states and while Kashmir Insurgency is highlighted by the media , not much media attention is on the insurgency in NE states .
In you visit many of the NE states like Mizoram , Manipur etc they will not ask are u from Tamil Nadu/Kerala/MAharashtra etc but ask you are u from India ?
So for Mizo people first of all they feel that they do not belong to India and that India has forcibly occupied it and hence they do not like to take any dictates from India and like to rule the state on their own terms .
This is the state of affairs there whether we like it or not .

hi
The north eastern states very peculiar in nature.....when i was posted in Assam...i was serving in Indian Army....Assam was my first

posting after my army training.....it was 25 yrs back....when i landed in Assam...i thought i was in different country...i never

felt its part of india...then i moved to Arunachal pradesh....i visited meghalaya/tripura/nagaland/manipur...its called 6 sisters....

only manipur anf arunachal are basically more hindus/buddhists....the nagaland/tripura/meghalaya maximum occupied by

christian missionaries....the beauty is ..they prefer english in state assembly and upto date modern dress....the most

western influence there....the manipur/arunachal hinduism is very strong....thanks to sri ramakrishna mission and ISCKON.......all six

sisters ignored by central govt for a long time....they are not main stream indian politics....they never feel that they belong

to UNION OF INDIA... now a lot of improvements...still not enough in the main stream of INDIANNESS.....

hi
those who follow hinduism...is called fanatic/fundamentalist according to indian secular dictionary.......secular means respect

all religions equally and there is state sponsoed religion.....but in INDIA....muslims/christians have all rights,,,not for hindus....becoz

majority....indian secular means....majority religion and minority religions...both are having different rules.....but all rules applicable

for hinduism... not for others....this is called INDIAN SECULAR....
