[h=1]India's manufacturing picks up in Jan: Report[/h]
In a shot in the arm for the government ahead of the week long ‘Make in India’ celebrations, the manufacturing activity in the country has returned to growth in the new year after a contraction in December.

The Nikkei Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), compiled by Markit, jumped to a four-month high of 51.1 in January after slumping to a 28-month low of 49.1 in December. The 50-mark demarcates contraction from expansion.

“The opening month of 2016 saw a rebound in new business – from both domestic and external clients – leading manufacturers in India to scale up output following a short-lived downturn recorded in December,” Pollyanna De Lima, Economist at Markit and author of the report said.

As for core sector growth it has been clearly mentioned that the eight core sectors have nearly 38 per cent weight in the Index of Industrial Production, the data for which will be released in the middle of this month.

There is nothing to mislead. But for members who often mislead others with false propoganda, this may be quite disappoiting.

I challenge the member to set up a manufacturing unit with his money if he believes in Govt statistics.

Only fools will engage in manufacture.

Existing small and medium scale industries are in distress and asking for bail out.

Larger ones are consolidating and trying hard to improve the bottomline.

It will take at least a couple of years for things to improve in case govt ensures a positive business climate without daily disruptions, maintaining communal harmony
and avoiding strikes

Wise will consume and that too good foreign products available at huge discounts online in e commerce sites

It is foolish to argu against Government statistics.

The small-scale industrial units in Tamil Nadu significantly increased with reasonable per cent variation in the growth.

It could be observed the number of employment increased.

The percentage increase was the highest compared to previous year.

The investment value of small scale industries sector in Tamil Nadu at constant prices had increased

The production value the SSIs sector in Tamil Nadu has also increased

So far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, the number of units have increased

The percentage share of the number of units in Tamil Nadu to the total increased continuously and steadily

And there are aspiring Enterpreneurs applying everyday for estalbishing of Small Scal Industries in Tamil Nadu. Applications are sold everyday.

I challenge this member to check with their Office at Guidy before writing balh balh.

This is the picture of Tamil Nadu.

Set up a small scale unit if you are brave.

no point in useless posts reeling out statistics.

On the other hand I consume using e commerce sites saved lakhs in wood work and consumer durables.

Consumption with ecommerce is rewarding.

Make hay when sun shines.

Most companies are offering large discounts on e portals to get a share of the action.

There is a free or all by amazon , flip cart ,myntra . pepper fry, urban ladder areturning indian market place into a dumping ground with high discount.

This is going to short change domestic manufacturers who have to sell their produce as scrap. Who wants their products fit for junkyards or a museum?

Go and tell your contacts, your neighbours, your relatives, kith and kin who take your advise seriously to set up a small scale unit and thus thrive in their life if they are brave.

And there is no point in shooting texts without any valid material to support or to substantiate your stand. .

Don’t come here and take the opportunity to blow your own horn.

A reading of your postings reminds me of the proverb that the grass on the other side of the fence is always greener.

Krishji,

Buying from ecommerce does not mean manufacturing is in a deep pit..Ecommerce avoids you the trouble of going to a brick and mortar shop..All ecommerce companies purchase from manufacturers only..So with more ecommerce sales, manufacturing is also positively impacted

vganeji
who buys brick and mortar online?. Of course I did use them for repainting works home

Most buy furniture, consumer items -kitchenware, mobiles , clothes , even provisions , toileteries or food .

The ratio of indian to foreign in value might be pretty small

ji,
I come to know that many " made in China, made in Japan..... " branded goods are manufactured locally and there is every possibility that these goods find their way in cheaper rates with added discounts on e portals.

After all, all consumers are not expected to have technical know how to probe through than merely looking at the byword embedded on the product and feel proud of buying a "made in China' item at a cheaper rate!

A smart chinese phone LeECO sold 76000 units on flipkart on its first day of release in india.

It is priced competitively as compared to its peer.

You might be right about japanese ,chinese goods original or otherwise on ecommerce platform.
