As a Kannnada madhwa brahmin born and raised in Chennai, i've noticed few peculiar differences between Iyers and Iyengars :loco:
Iyers are usually the talkative bunch in a group, easy going and Academically brilliant people whereas the Iyengars usually keep to themselves and of course, intelligent people, too!
I identify myself with Iyengars more though and it has nothing do with me being a vaishnavite.

PS : Nothing but a fun discussion :amen:
PPS : Whenever someone asks what caste i belong to, i'm always in a fix to answer Iyer OR iyengar.. No one knows whos a madhwa, perhaps because we were busy eating in Mutts
