I just wonder what is meant by all the slokams.. All the slokams should represent the whole of almost what is written in Sanskrit. and the stotra and sloka literature in Sanskrit is the major part of the language itself, and it can even be a yardstick of sorts for the development of the language and literature over the centuries and also decline thereon.. Covers indeed a very wide and deep canvas.. I am not able to find such a stotraratna compiled by anyone. nor could I find anything even remotely comparable in lustre or worth.. to be termed as ratna.. Apaarey Kaavya samsaarey .....
I am tempted to believe that I have to travel indeed a lot, cover a lot a distance, really, miles to go before I sleep..
Cliches and generalizations scare me..
Not meant to cast any aspersions on Stotraratnams.. I know about it, and I have respect in absolute terms, and for long years for the veteran and venerated compiler.. for whom it is a tapasya of a lifetime or more..

Working in the chip designing industry, living in Naperville IL, Travel often to Chennai, my home. What else do I say...!! Am not single..love my kindle and my chinese smartphone (eww!!)..also love my HP laptop (no apples or oranges here!!)..what else..

Slokams and stotras make a good chunk, indeed of sanskrit compositions but when someone says that these slokams "should represent the whole of almost what is written in Sanskrit" the person's ignorance of Sanskrit, only shines like a "ratna". Please go to any library stocking the works of Kalidasa, Bhavabhuti, Bana, Bhartruhari, Bhasa, and so on and see how much Sanskrit literature is there. Then we have the really voluminous Puranas which are not slokas/stotras.

Even widowed women of the earlier times have composed slokas in sanskrit and many of these are in circulation within limited circles.
