thanks for yr elaboration

s regards your last three lines , I would rather believe in goodness of human beings and place trust in them though contrary might equally be true

As one grows old , dependance on others increases. it is sensible to believe in goodness of people than be a pessimistic old goat as many things

have to be achieved utilising the human resources around you on assumption that they are good and worthy of trust

so far my expereinces in dealing with people have only been positive . I would trust a stranger taking him at face value at the risk of being taken for a

ride. call it crass foolishness if you like. I have done very well for myself so far.

In theory,I tend to agree with Krish Ji that intrinsically humans are good. What make them behave in a certain way i.,e either as good or bad towards one is not an unchangeable behavior. It basically depends on how much good you are and how much of bad behavior you can take gracefully. Then intrinsic good nature of the humans will come to the fore if you behave with them in the right way. Some one who seems to be an inveterate bad person has to be dealt with perfectly.

It is my view if you can show that goodness is a strength and not a weakness you can impress upon people and change their behavior towards you.

Sri Krish

Starting with a kind of trust towards others we come across in our life is fine as an approach. There is nothing great about such an approach. There is nothing wrong either...

Good and bad occurs in pairs. Each defines the other. Human beings have shown their capacity to do good to others and bad to others. By others I do not mean just human beings only. They also are the only species in the planet capable of doing extreme good and extreme bad actions towards others. That is just a fact regardless of how we approach people we run into in our life.

The true nature of all these people - good or bad - is altogether a different thing. It is this true nature that Swami Vivekananda refers to in some of his speeches. This true nature is beyond good and bad and has no opposite

People's behavior can be affected by the reactions they get for their behavior. If their behavior doesn't elicit the typical reaction it would surprise them. So a really well balanced reaction to a difficult situation is likely to positively present yourself to others especially if you can sustain such a reaction. I am talking of a hypothetical case because that is very difficult in practice and hence doesn't seem to present the case that people's behavior can be altered.

I feel greatly encouraged by your post. for me being good to others is not a choice , If I were younger,I could afford to discriminate between good and not so good.

I have found that if I reach out to people with good will and trust I find reciprocity mostly. the positive ones bond and negative ones atleast are neutral

life can be a pleasant journey if only one bonds with people of different thinking and values.

I was touched by the wisdom of your post. thank you

Dear Krish Ji,

I really like to read your posts as they would seem to combine two incompatible beliefs, being, not believing in God and believing in humans. What I really think is, true belief in even one of them implies the other. I would therefore classify you as a believer if you allow me to classify you.

Dear all,
I have a son 2 yrs old and recently confirmed my second pregnancy. Last 2-3 days had been little negative.
My husband is unwell last 3 days...
Yday I dropped a full pot of curd and wasted entire curd. Nothing broke
Then again yesterday my husband dropped a glass plate and it broke
Today my son dropped a glass mug and broke
And today before going to bed, I went to pray and noticed that two swami padam and one Krishna idol had falled down - within the shelf itself but nothing broke.
So, there has been series of drops and breakage. Nothing was intentional- all by mistake. But still am worried. Am afraid of it all as some bad omen showing that something bad is on its way.
Pls advise what to do...

Namaskaram

Dear Madam,

I do not see any bad omen in what you have described. All you have described are common occurrences that happen in everyone's house. To my mind, you have to fear something only when your thoughts and deeds are bad. Only then it means something bad is on the way. So relax and not fear anything else.

I am happy that all have advised not tom worry and leave the matter as such and move on. It is miceofthem. However my suggestion is this . Wait for one month from now on. You may slowly forget. Pl. Divert your mind and engage with children and keep all as Busy as possible. At the end of one month you might forget. That is the power of Mind.

"Idukkan varungaal nahuga". If there is an equalent in any hindu scripture please let me know, I will quote.

May be "All things work for good to them who Love God and who are called according to His purpose(Bible)" = "Idukkan varungaal nahuga" for a proselytising convert. But people who know Tamil will immediately recognize the oddity. That it is just a "mottai thalaikkum muzhangaalukkum podappatta mudichchu". LOL.

Well, it is not quite unusual to be unwell...

The rest are all simple incidents that would happen to anybody.... dont fret.

All things work for good to them who Love God and who are called according to His purpose.

What is meant by "good" and "bad"? Who is God and what is this "purpose"? What is meant by "love" here and why should one "love"? What do you mean by "all things" - like as in no sorrow, no worries, no death etc? Finally what is this "calling"?

It doesn't matter if you choose not to answer...

dear sri tambrahm,

there lived a man in the united states of america. he experienced only failures, failures and only failures after failures in his life. he never succeeded in anything but one. the only thing he ever succeeded in was ................................................
becoming the president of the USA. and he went on to become one of the greatest presidents ever. he became so great that his enemies (worst cowards) could not bear to see him alive and they assassinated him. He is none other than .......................
ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

There are many such real life stories sir. Had they thought all failures are bad omen, they never would have made it to the top.
