Is there a brahmin Telugu like you have brahmin Tamil?

Do Telugu brahmins speak a differently accentuated Telugu, different from the Telugu spoken by Telugu Non-brahmins?

I do not know if there are caste wise differences in telugu spoken language.

But coastal andhra telugu is sweeter than telengana telugu .

Andhras from krishna -godavari basin speak telugu which is pure and delightful to hear.

Yes, the Telugu spoken by persons from Krishna-Godhavari basin is considered pure. As both areas have plenty of water irrigated lands, all forms of art are nourished (similar to the old Thanjavur district and Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, where arts such as music and language flourished). Brahmin population in these coastal districts of AP is also large in number. Further, the language of Telugu has wonderful literary works (the alphabets depict all alphabets of Sanskrit -ensuring exact pronunciation). (in Tamil, we do not have the distinction of pronunciation in alphabets க, ச, ட, த, ப and thereby any Sanskrit literature, if written in Tamil script, suffers from faulty pronunciation (unless the reader is conversant with Sanskrit language).

I have seen several Telugu Brahmin scholars, practicing their rituals without compromising on age-old tradition. Probably the political environment in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka has been better - compared to Tamil Nadu, where Brahmins are being ridiculed for over 48 years by other communities....

Like there is Brahmin Tamil, there must be Brahmin Telugu. And for that matter every other language must have a typical Brahmin style. Many in this forum have nagging doubt about what or who is a brahmin. The non-brahmins all over the world recognize the brahmin language, his mannerism, and his reactions to things and happenings. Above all face is the index of the mind. If one is a brahmin his face should show it notwithstanding the rules of exceptions.

Telugu songs of film 'sankara bharanam' are far more melodious than its tamil version also sung by same singers.

Thyagaraja, annamacharyya kirthanas have their die hard fans .

I admire somayajulu in some of the above telugu films .

Still we cannot get any one to sing better than ghantasala venketeswara rao songs in mythological films.

Has there been a better krishna in films than NTR

Religion is still practised by many telugu brahmins of vaidhiki and niyogis variety in the most traditional way in AP without encountering caste hatred.

hi

generally VELANATTIVADULU , MULAKANATTIVADULU ,NIYODULU, VAIDHIGULU are main sub sects of telugu smartha brahmin....like

vadama.brahacharanam.vaatima.astrasaastram are subsect of tamil smartha brahmins....like tamil .......some sects are higher

and some are lower.....

It seems you have not heard old Tamil songs. First listen and then compare. It shows your ignorance about music. Even in Carnatic Music there are lot of very good songs written by Papanasam Sivan, Gopalakrishna Bharathi.

How many NBs know about Thiagaraja and Annamacharya?

Only Tamilians have the disease of praising other languages, without giving proper importance to Tamil.

Dear Chandru Sir,

I humbly request you and all members of this forum to refrain from entering into any controversies over which language is better etc.

I honor every language and every language has its own beauty.

Sir,

First of all, I have not compared any language. I pointed out some section of Tamilians are not giving proper importance to their mother tongue.

Dear tbs sir,

The Telugu Brahmins of Tamil Nadu are a community of their own distinct identity and their Telugu is different from Telugu Brahmins of Andhra. The TN Telugu B's don't mingle with AP Telugu B's.

Excepting for Telugu language, the TN Telugu B's are ritually and ceremonially Tamil Brahmins.

Could you please help me learn to speak Telugu of Andhra Telugu Brahmins? I would be most grateful.

There is difference in the spoken Telugu just as in spoken Tamil.

I used to clear my doubts in Telugu, from a scholar mAmi, when I lived in Vizag.

Otherwise, I would have learnt ONLY my servant maid's Telugu!! :dizzy:

hi

there are some great telugu brahmin families from godavari districts/guntur district too....they speak nice sweet telugu

language.........i had some professors from there.....TN telugu Bs are different identity....they generally mingle with

tamil Bs....many telugu words used as tamil in their day to day life....But AP Bs telugu is original with more

sansritised....means more sanskrit words...generally TN telugu brahmins follow tamil brahmin rituals/ceremonies...
