Liberation according to...
Dear Sri Brahmanyan,
Rahu kalam is supposed to be inauspicious or ,in other words, has dosham.
Therefore, we avoid undertaking journeys or beginning a new venture or
any function. There are various kinds of doshas according to Muhurta
chintamani and one is rahu kalam.
A day is divided into 8 parts , each lasting for 90 minutes. On any day,
the first part is free from rahu kalam. And, It starts from 7.30 am to 9 am (i.e.,
second part ) on Monday, then 9 to 10.30 on saturday, 10.30 to 12 on
friday, 12 to 1.30 pm on wednesday, 1.30 to 3 pm on thursday, 3 to 4.30
on tuesday and 4.30 to 6 pm on sunday. It is easily remembered by the
catch phrase " Mother Saw Father Wearing The TUrban SUddenly " -
M for Monday etc.,
Yes sir, you are right in saying that rahu kalam is reckoned from the time
of sunrise. Therefore, it varies from one place to another and from one
season to another depending on the time of Sunrise. If the Sunrise is
at 6 AM, rahu kalam starts from 7.30 am on monday; if the Sunrise is
at 6.30 am, rahu kalam begins from 8 am on mondays.
