Mallige idli

I think what the other poster meant was that "i am nearing 80 and so (i am) careful ".

I tried the recipe in the OP - 2 cups Idli rice + 1/2 cup 'aval' + 1/2 cup cooked rice and 1 cup urad dhal with some 'vendhayam' - I grinded the respective batters to a fine paste and mixed together. Idli came out very good, my family is now a fan of 'Mallige Idli'.
