[h=1]Microsoft may be throwing in the towel with Lumia Phones[/h] September 12, 2016 Kishore Ganesh
Android and iOS are undoubtedly the major players in the smartphone industry, and while three-four years ago, Blackberry and Windows Phone continued to exist, albeit with single digit market shares, now their market share has dipped even lower.
According to WinBeta, Microsoft may stop selling devices from the Lumia line by December, and since almost no one else is producing Windows 10 devices (except a few niche manufacturers), that would mean the end of the line for Windows Phone devices.
However, all hope is not lost, as Microsoft is rumored to create a high-end Surface phone. Considering the fact that the smartphone market is mostly saturated in developed countries, the prospects of any Microsoft phone climbing up the ladder seems a bit bleak.
