Modi's 100 days in office

The Man behind Japanese Tweets.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is definitely the man of the moment. With a successful Japan trip and some interesting take-aways from his first official engagement as PM outside the subcontinent, Modi has not failed to impress.

Modi generated a lot of interest when he tweeted in Japanese before he left for the much-anticipated summit with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe. From playing drums to wooing investors to ‘make in India’ and being mobbed by ‘fans’ in Japan, Modi nailed this one for sure.

What he tweets becomes news. But, have you ever wondered whose are the magical hands behind Modi’s unprecedented online presence? Meet, 44-year old Hiren Joshi, who has been managing Modi’s blogs and website. Yes, he is also the man who tweeted for Modi in Japanese.

Joshi sent out 8 tweets with help from the Indian embassy in Japan using a translatin tool, according to a newspaper report. According to sources, the PMO had sent a script of Modi’s tweets in English, which was sent to the Indian embassy.

The embassy reverted with the Japanese translation. The External Affairs Ministry appointed a translator, who verified the tweets. Joshi is a PhD from the prestigious Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior.

He has over 18 years of experience and was personally chosen by Modi to handle his online presence in 2008.

Please give credit where it is due. Of course congratulation to Mr. Modi for choosing Mr. Hiren Joshi.

Of course that is obvious. Nobody claims Modi knows Japanese. But the spirit and gesture is what matters. Beyond Modi, it represents the Govt of India.

Mr Narendra Modi has initiated a number of measures to restructure almost every department of his Government. Even the indelible ink mark has not vanished from my finger nail.To analyse the progress in 100 days does not seem to be fair. There seem to be over enthusiasm on the part of few critics to find fault with Mr Modi and his Government from the day one of him taking the post of Prime Minister. The previous Governments have damaged the Governance systematically by allowing all sort of compromises in the name of compulsions of Coalition Dharma.

Well, let us not degrade the efforts of a sincere man who wants to do some thing good for his Country. People of this country has voted Mr Modi for a change, which I am sure they will see in five years.
Mr Modi is not a "sprinter" but a "stayer".

Let us wish him all the best and support whole heartedly in his endeavors.

Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

Dear Shri Brahmanyan,

When I compare Mr. Modi's pre-election announcements, promises and assurances, etc., with his actions after assuming office, my assessment is that probably Mr. Modi thinks that India is a slightly bigger or larger Gujarat, and nothing else!

It has become clear, by now, that Mr. Modi knows only one kind of Government and that was what he could, and he did, present, as CM of Gujarat. The people of India were fed-up of MMS-Sonia government, thanks to the ten years of UPA rule and, in their utter frustration, cast their votes in favour of Modi/BJP. However, the same people seem to have started realizing their mistake as seen in the bye-elections in Bihar, Karnataka, etc.

Modi, in the meantime has created enough animosity within his own party, by dumping veterans like Shri Advani, Shri Joshi, etc., and his efforts to sideline Shri Rajnath Singh has come unstuck. (I feel Rajnath Singh must now be feeling himself like God Shiva who gave boon to Bhasmaasura!) In my estimate Shri Modi cannot be a stayer, if he continues to follow his present tactics, and will have to go after, say, roughly two or three years. And, if he continues longer than that, it will be thanks to the utter inefficiency of all the other parties. He can make neither Gujarat into an India, nor India into a large Gujarat. To govern this mysterious country one has to have special abilities which, we can now say, even Mahatma Gandhi or Jawaharlal Nehru did not possess (Gandhi never attempted to rule India; he was intelligent. Nehru failed dismally in judging Chinese designs towards our country and died a heart-broken man.)

Dear Shri Sangom,

The single most important quality that a person, especially a leader can possess is his composure under pressure. This in turn leads to a number of desirable qualities like ability to not to be influenced by others, ability to think positively and to think about the concerns of others and so on. I have a sense that Modi handles pressure well and it is a question of time before the vision he laid out will be implemented. As some members pointed out it is too early to judge him but to me even before he was elected he seemed the most promising.

True. Twelve years of abuse, intimidation and lies directed against him fell on him like flowers, and he has faced them like a true yogi. Let us hope his ministers do not get into bad habits and slow down his march.

ZERO,
Is this a competition between the two PM. You have very low expectations of PM.

Modi has to be better than his predecessor, no doubt as you have rightly given a big zero for MMS...In any case we are experiencing a new PM not seen or experienced by the Next Gen since the times of Indira Gandhi, when I was just a student

100 Days Of The Modi Government - From Hopelessness To Hope » The Indian Republic

I think the title seem to say it all. If in actual reality, across the spectrum of diversity of Indians there is hope about the future that is a great accomplishment by iteself.

The actual accomplishments are achieved by any country with strong and decisive leadership and usually follows a sense of hope about the future by its people.
