Wow, what a pronouncement !However there are misguided 'help' (example: post #6) though the intent I am sure is sincere.
A fish cannot control the water it dwells in. Submitting to destiny means acceptance of the things as they are. There is no need to give arms and legs to this statement. If you are confused you can ask for clarification. If the word is ambiguous, you may say so.For some reason, due to perhaps Arabic/Muslim cultural influence there is this notion of 'submitting to destiny' that has found its way into Hindu thinking. The idea of kismet ( தலை விதி) has taken roots in Hindu thinking unsupported by proper understanding of the Karma model.
Seems you are too keen to jump to conclusions.
Another pronouncement. One is told that one must submit to this destiny making a person feel more hopeless.
It is best to stay away from such advice.
Getting carried away with a flawed understanding. In fact Hindu astrology is far superior than listening to idea of submitting to destiny because at least an astrologer will suggest Pariharams that puts the control back at a person's free will based action. Lest someone jumps at this statement without fully understanding, let me hasten to add that I am not advocating going to an astrologer after another because even within that belief system one can get confused.
I differ from your half baked conclusion. Imo, an act if done with dedication and willingness becomes a medicine for the mind. It is a form of karma yoga.My suggestion to undertake a meditation practice is because it is rooted in large number of neuroscience experiments. It is not about imagining the act of serving your mother and sister and calling that a meditation. Again such thinking lack clarity of understanding what meditation is.
