I have seen Male peacock hopping or jumping down, I did not think they fly. I still will not call it flying.

While travelling in and around Sayalkudi (in between Tuticotrin and Keelakkarai), one could come across a lot of peacocks, on the way.

The picture is amazing because the peacock is so clear but the background is hazy! :clap2:

BTW, the bird has a very serious look!

P.S:I have seen peacocks flying short distances.

Farmers are arrested when peacocks are found dead due to suspected poisoning. But the agricultural community wonders how cultivators could be held responsible if the peacock had consumed pesticides sprayed on the crop, or poison kept for eliminating rats. Peacocks that feed on fields where the pesticides have been freshly sprayed are more likely to die instantly, sources said.
