This is a forwarded message I got today, that I wish to share,

Personal Experience of a Retired Col. (Under Modi Sarkar)
Two events happened to me recently about which I want to share my experiences.
My dad passed away about 5 months ago at the ripe old age of 94.
He had retired in 1975 as Supdt.Engr in CPWD in Delhi and was getting the central govt pension from 1975 to 2014 (about 40,000/-per month).
In the year 2010 he wrote to the ministry of pensions asking to include my mother's name Sharadha, now 89 yrs as the family pensioner.
In the year 2012. due to my father's failing eyesight I reminded them by email as well as by phone to Delhi. I was told they are processing it and will send the revised papers "soon".
2014 came and my dad had still not recd confirmation of my mom's name as family pensioner.
He passed away assuming his wife will not be the recipient of around 25,000/-PM as her pension. When I went to the bank after my dad's death with all papers they said my mom's name was not in the pension payment order.
Frustrated I sent a copy of the earlier correspondence of 2010 to the pension ministry. Within 4 days I got an email from some clerk saying the papers will be ready within a week( not a vague "soon").
On the 5 th day I got a phone call from a person who introduced himself as Dr Jitendra Singh and he said the papers with my mom's details have been sent to the bank that very day.
I hung up thanking him. When I checked their web site Dr Jitendra Singh was the minister of state for pensions and
personnel grievances, reporting to a Sr. cabinet minister who was Modi himself.
When I called back to thank the minister himself ,he modestly said it was the PM's directive that no woman who has lost her husband recently should be further traumatized by delayed paperwork on pensions.
(What Manmohan did not do in 4 yrs Modi did in 4 days)
And last month when my mom had to give her life certificate to the bank a bank officer came home to get her signature due to her old age. (Last year I had taken my 93 years old dad to the bank with great difficulty).
The bank also confirmed it was Finance ministry directive to treat Sr. Citizens with extra sensitivity!!
You may decide to share if this mail brought out tears in your eyes too.

Who suffers more? One who is sarcastic or the one who doesn't get sarcasm?!

Dear Brahmanyan Sir,

It is a pity that you too have become a " conservative chest thumping Hindu Taliban".

KB Sir,

Do you remember the dark days under the incommunicado & dumb person who led a corrupt Government..How can you forget that soon?

Transformation

Another 'feel good' experience, some months old:

"On a more serious note, now let me tell you the experience I had at the Indian consulate in Sydney yesterday. I had gone there for the life certificate. I was amazed at seeing the transformation in that office since my last visit:

The man at the reception asked me even before I could say anything, 'Sir, have you come for the life certificate?' I said, 'Yes'. He asked me to give him the documents, take coffee and have a seat. Some guys were already sitting and some kept coming. After some time, the Consular came out (I was told later that he comes out every half an hour), called out the names, made them sign the certificate, signed it himself and handed it over. I was off in half an hour, when the website says it will take one day.

As though this was not enough, there was an old Anglo Indian pensioner from the Railways, William D Francis, on a wheelchair, accompanied by his granddaughter. Frail and unable to speak. The Consular saw him and asked for his form first. With the form in hand, he went to him and said 'Sir, from next year onwards, please do not come here for this certificate. Just go to your treating GP (Doctor), he will sign this certificate. After that, please post it to us along with a photocopy of your passport. You will get it back in a day and, if you desire, we will also send it to your paying office.

All pensioners present were amazed at the transformation. As though in unison, they all said, 'I am going for Modi's public appearance next week.'

Being a bit curious, I stayed on and started asking the receptionist about this noticeable transformation. He told me the following:

We have to send to MEA, a monthly report highlighting the problems faced by visitors to the consulate and what actions have been taken to remove or reduce them. This is the result of that. I asked him to tell me a few other improvements. He started off with an whole list. Let me tell you one of them. They have started a new emergency service. Say, after office hours, one learns that one's father has passed away. You SMS your visa request on a given number. If the officer on duty considers it to be an emergency request, he will call you back and speak to you and, in all probability for such a case, give you a visa the moment you are able to reach him with your passport. I remember my son's tears when he pleaded for a visa to get home after my wife's death. While the Indian embassy tried its best to delay it, his Australian boss in Canberra had to intervene. My eyes are flowing with tears as I remember it, while trying to bring this transformation to you. Only one thing has changed since then in the consulate - the PM. The same building, the same staff. I left the consulate with my chest high - 56 inches.

Guys, this is a National Opportunity for us to redeem and rediscover ourselves. Let us contribute in the effort and not derail it. The least we can do is to have patience. Things are happening.

Please do pass on this First Hand Account of Transformation to those who may not be knowing and to the media which will never publish such good deeds of the man. From my side, I sent an immediate email to the PMO with a copy to the Consular and the Ambassador.

Dear Sri கால பைரவன்,
Thank you for the "compliments". Ha Ha ! That is a good one. I appreciate your sense of humour ! Pray how did you find this? I never knew the value of myself like "Mullah Nasiruddin's rickety donkey" till the auctioneer shouted the compliments !

Warm regards,
Brahmanyan,

During the Emergency days enthusiasts used to claim that the trains were running on time. People used to attend office 5 minutes in advance and leave 5 minutes later. Union leaders used to relearn their work and put in a day's labour in office. I hope Modi does not get treated like Mrs. Gandhi ultimately.

On the Contray I expect Modi to behave like Mrs Gandhi ( i.e bringing all control underhimself including his partya and his CMs , cutting down on people who are becoming popular in the BJP ruled States and bringing them to the Centre under him etc etc )

The central govt employees in central new delhi constituency voted enmasse against bjp due to stricter attendance

requirements under modi dispensation.lady employees and wives of govt employees were upset that they had to finish

home duties early in the morning in cold winter.

with traffic chaos and poor transportation facilities in delhi, it is foolish to talk of punctuality.

it is a miracle that govt employees go to office in time.

this govt will fall apart very fast due to sabotage of bjp ministers and party men and govt officials.

no one likes a petty tin pot dictator concentrating power in his hands.

the gujerati duo is doomed .

this kind of management cannot work at the centre for long

Agreed but where these chaps punctual even when there was no problems in transportation or traffic congestion . If the Government Employees have genuine problems in attending the office on time they can take up the issue with the PM or the concerned Minister and find ways to handle this issue . But it is not just for Government Employees , every Individual from whichever sector he /she is must respect punctuality and learn to be on time and avoid giving excuses .

All employed in private sector - industries, offices, banks, shops and virtually all sectors - report on time and follow the rules of the organization for late punching.

there are certain privileges of a Govt job.

One of them is the laid back style and not bothering about the clock too much.

If a govt employees work couple of hours sincerely, it is good enough.

there is that much of redundency buit into the system.

If all start working all of eight hours a day, the govt will collapse due to instability and over work.

yesterday , I found at MTNL five were doing the job of one..

three at the counter, one issuing duplicate bills , another giving out details of amount due ,third collecting money for

telephone bills.they were assisted by a peon.these had a boss sitting in a glass cabin , I do not know doing what.

Added to it ,a box for putting cheques. These were occupying expensive office space which could get MTNL lot of

money. How can it ever make profits?

Same is the case of central govt in a larger framework. If everything is computerised and tax exemption limits are

raised to say five lakhs per year, thousands of IT clerks would have nothing to do.There is a strong case for

middleclass to be out of taxnet.

Govt is a model employer. Most over fifty are dead wood . They are also not IT savvy.Nothing can be done about

them. They will retire in course of time. No sense in harassing them talking of timeliness and productivity. b

Is tere a case for harassing working ladies about timeliness and talk of women empowerment at the same time.

these ladies would say keep your empowerment in your pockets and get lost. Stop harassing us in work place about

timeliness or we will vote you out.

This is a one term govt. It cannot last for long.

Indians have put up with emergency years of IG. They will get rid of this govt also fast

two incidents mentioned show that Modi Govt. works. It could also be true that Govt. employees enblock voted against BJP in Delhi election. I read somewhere some years back that Netaji wanted India after independence under military rule atleast for 25 years so that Indians r made to learn as to how to work. y see unless some decipline is maintained no progress is possible. y all know how Japanese work. they strike during night and lunchtime wihtout disturbing production. They come to office on time. during my recent visit to Tokyo, I took a bus from airport to the city and enquired at what time the bus will reach particular point. The driver said particular time (I think, 11.05) Believe me the Bus was there at that time and noted it in my wrest watch - srinivasan
