PM declines to accept honorarydoctorate from BHU

PrimeMinister Narendra Modi has declined to receive an honorary doctorate fromBanaras Hindu University, citing his policy of not accepting such degrees,official sources said here today.

Modi will be visiting BHU on February 22 to attendits convocation during which the University had proposed to confer him withhonorary Doctorate of Law.

BHU, in a statement, had said it proposed toconfer Doctor of Laws (LLD) (honoris causa) on Modi in recognition of his"yeoman services as an innovator, reformer and an outstanding leader inpublic service and governance".

This is yet another proof of Mr Narendra Modi's maturity. We are reminded of the "Doctorate" to the then Tamil Nadu CM in the early 1970's in which a student protester was killed by hooligans and the father of the slain student was threatened to say that the dead student was not his son. Even the ghost of that student will not forgive that CM. Even today, the sycophancy in Tamil Nadu politics has taken deep roots with the ruling party living in fool's paradise !

Modi is an oasis among the sundry politicians clamoring for money and position including large cut outs, silly doctorate degrees & grandiose garlands.

Modi has so far made only one mistake as a PM relating to ethics & morality which he later repented...It was the controversy on the coat & suit with Modi emblazoned on it...Not only Modi stopped using that but also auctioned it for charity!!
