Life is good only when it is magical and musical, a perfect timing and consent, and when we do not anatomize it...:sing:
You must hear the bird's song
without attempting to render it
into nouns and verbs.:music:

Dear VR,

I somehow prefer the
I always avoid the Kill 2 birds with 1 stone(poor birds)

Mangoes are tropical fruits. So we prefer to strike two
mangoes with one stone.
People living in the cold countries try to keep
themselves warm with the two birds struck by one stone

I thought of something naughty..those who want to get rid of 2 husbands will say this..

Purushan.

I have heard about to or more wives and seen them too.
But two husbands and both to sent off permanently...???
Will there be a third one taking care of this mighty operation!!!

Purushan .rare as it sounds but draupadi did have five husbands.

Not only did Droupathi have five husbands but she also wished secretly for the sixth brother Karna as her sixth husband.
No one knew it except Sri. Krishna.
Read on for the juicy story!

அழகிய இரட்டையரின் சொற்கள்;

GARVA BANGAM.

When pAndavAs were about to begin their ‘agnAtha vAsam’, dhroupathi had become very proud of her fame as a ‘pathivrathai’. krishnA wanted to deflate her pride and played this subtle drama.

They had moved to a new place and saw an Ashram and a beautiful garden. A single ripe mango was hanging from a tree-even though is was not the mango season!

Arjuna gave it to dhroupathi since she wanted to eat it.Krishna got agitated-as it was the only daily food of a great rishi, who owned the ashram.

He said that if everyone spoke the thought in their mind truthfully the mango would get stuck to the tree once again.

Dharman said that he wanted to perform many charities and good deeds after becoming the lawful king once again.

Bheeman said that he would make his vow come true by killing dhuryOdanan by busting open his thigh with his mace and ripping open his chest with his nails.

Arjunan said that his only wish was to kill karnan.

nakulan said that he would become the crown prince and take good care of his mother.

sahadEvan said that he would be with dharman – fanning with sAmaram. The mango had risen slowly and was very close to its stalk.

dhroupadi said that she would laugh at the destruction of all those who had caused her sorrow and shame.

Since the five men had told the truth, the fruit rose very close to its stalk. But dhroupadis statement made the fruit fall to the ground again!

Then she was forced to reveal her inner most thought.

When she had seen Karna in the yAgasAlA, she had wished that, if he too were kunthi’s son she would have married six of the greatest men on earth – a privilege no woman had ever enjoyed on the earth! .

Her husbands stood shocked and rooted to the spot. Her pride as a pathivratha vanished into thin air in no time!.

If guys like the Pandavas and Karna walked this earth again..who wouldnt want Polyandry?

I always admired Draupadi but at times could not understand that despite being a pure woman she sometimes displayed a little 'arrogance' especially when she laughed at Duryodhana when he fell saying that a blind man's son is also blind.

One thing I could not understand is she vowed revenge for her attempted disrobing but could forgive Ashwattama for the unrighteous killings of her sons(Upa Pandavas) (on the grounds that he was a Brahmana and also the son of her husbands' guru.)

For me I feel I can forgive attempted disrobing cos I dont lose my life in it but killing of children..I can never forgive.. I will slaughter anyone myself.

Well may be she is Divine and I am just human and strange are the ways of the Divine.

Thank you for your suggestion Mr. Saiyeen.

Already a gentleman veteran of the Forum has also suggested the same idea.

But once money figures in, the thought process might be corrupted by the money involved, sales promotion tactics etc and I may not be able to think as freely as I do now.

The Forum is a large family! That so many people read my views with interest itself gives me a lot of satisfaction.

Let me be a free bird so that I may soar higher, think deeper and write better without any fetters.

P.S.

The book of the original music compositions of my dear grandfather was released in 2000 but till today it has been neither promoted, nor sold nor even distributed freely to the interested people. The books lie piled up in a shelf!

I do not want to end up in a similar situation since my flat is really really small unlike my large heart.

Its seems that Renuka ji is Vegetarian that's why she prefers Maangaai over kuruvees. :-)VR ji why don't you publish your own book. Liase with publishers like Rupa publications and get your thoughts organized in the form of a book. That way you can earn money as well as propagate your views over a wide universe and influence minds.

dear Mr. N.R.R.

I haven't read the original Mahaa Bhaaratham or its complete translation. The book which I have read is the translation in Tamil by Rajaji.

I did not come across the story there, but I saw it in the INTERNET with many other stories from the Maha Bhaaratham.

It looked authentic since all the other stories are authentic. In any case we know the working of a human mind.

"The more we have... the more we want!"

So I won't be surprised if this is a genuine and authentic story from Mahaa Bhaaratham.

with warm regards,
Mrs. V. R.

Madam,Reference your post 712, is there any reference from Vyasa's MB. Pl .let me know

dear Renu,

We have all sorts of people who value different things differently.

Yet disrobing a woman in a crowded durbar, when is in her monthly cycles, is a heinous crime-as horrible as, if not more horrible than- killing her!

Droupadi wad proud, arrogant and conceited- no doubt!

Film stars, cabaret dancers and model undress or under dress in crowded halls for money.

For them it is way of earning money sweeter than honey. So they do it and become slowly "all-body and no-soul" people.

Look at the dead expression in their eyes and their skeletal bodies! Yucks !

You are right when you said that different people view things differently.
Seen this many times before in life.
Had a real innocent classmate who once came back to hostel crying that a guy had pulled her bra strap while she was in class and let go of it like an elastic and she felt that her honour was gone.

we(me and another girl) had to console her and the wreck revenge on that guy.
We went back to class the next day, located that guy and shone a torch light at his groin and told him "hey just checking out to see if you have B***s and you dont!!!!"

dear Mr. Saiyeen,

I am deeply touched by the good impression you seem to have on my ideas and writings and your tenacity in taking up this issue.

My husband is AGAINST my writing anything at all... leave alone publishing a book.

I will consult my good and friendly daughter in law (an MBA) and see what can be done, with the least resistance from my husband.

She will be visiting with my son and her son next month! I don't even know how to go about these things!

Thank you for you effort and interest in this matter.

with best wishes and regards,
Mrs. V.R.

# 721 in continuation of the post # 720.

My daughter in law's name is also Rupa.

May be these two Rupas put together

are going to work magically in my life!

Man wants honey!
He wants a sweet wife,
He wants a sweet family,
He wants tasty food stuff.

Woman want money.
She wants smooth silks.
She wants glittering jewels.
She loves fancy new cars!

Man earns with difficulty
The money sought by his wife!
But does the wife give him the
Honey he sought all his life?

Now that is the wisdom of a man,
in every instance of his labor,
to hitch his wagon to a star,

:plane:
and see his chores done by
the Gods themselves.

There is no knowledge that is not power.:high5:

As soon as there is life, there is danger. :fear:

Quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

It may be a weed instead of a fish that, after all my labor, I may at last pull up. :fish2:

Micheal Faraday.

"Tis still my maxim, that there is no scandal like rags, :scared:
nor any crime so shameful as poverty. :hungry:

There are secrets in all families. :gossip:

George Farquhar.

Good Husband vs Good Son.

A good husband cum a good son,
Is yet in this wide world to be born!

Good son adores only his parent,
And leaves his good wife transparent.

It is "Either you live in our style!
Or go become your mother's tail!"

His mother takes on the upper hand;
And hands out the D.I.L. fiery bands.

The good husband on the other hand
Is full of adoration to his all-new-find!

It is an ultimatum to the old parents,
"Can stay with us as silent parents! :tape:

I owe my loyalty to this poor girl,
Who for me has sacrificed her all!"

Things will be kept in great secrecy,
Where is the need to tell the mercenary?

The D. I. L will throw words or vessels.
The choice-less-life is so full of tussles. :caked:

A Good husband and a real good son,
Are mutually exclusive in one person!

I know a person who appears very calm,
Living such a life, as the back of my palm!

If A good son is also a good husband,
He'll be a circus ring master's real find! :whip:

Once a loyal son, is always a loyal son!
Once a loyal husband, he is always one!

For a mother all her children are equally important.

So also for a writer, all the threads must be of equal

importance.

I don't know whether I have neglected this thread

slightly, by spending more time in "Life is like that!"

So in future all the English poems will appear in

"Points to Ponder" while all the Tamil poems will

appear in "Life is like that!"

PROJECT AND REJECT.

Why does a man always project,
His own ideas and then object? :noidea:

Whatever is his real objective?
Degrade by thinking subjective?

Why does he often this forget?
He too can often become a target!

Of such an inhuman onslaught
Comparable to a manslaughter?

The life is spared, have no doubt!
But honor is always put in doubt.
:gossip:

It always results in deepest pain;
Putting relationship under strain!

Why can't he just let thing stand?
Which he will never understand!

What makes him feel one up on others?
To go around chopping their feathers!

Try to gather feathers for your hat;
Rather than chop other person's hat.:hat:

Strive to come up and then become,
The thing you had wanted to become.

Slice not the others seen around;
Surely your actions will rebound!

For every action done good or bad;
There 'll be a reaction happy or sad!

The mills of God may grind very slow;
But it will surely, with the time's flow! :clock:
