I am planning to have poonal ceremony for my son in a few months. I am in the process of finalizing the invitation. What I am realizing is many people do not know or understand the significance of poonal, its background etc. Obviously it has evolved over time but the core remains.
I was thinking of adding a sheet with the invitation that tells the significance of poonal and what it represents in the journey of life. Does anyone have any recommendations of text or some reference site from which I can capture the essence of this or if someone already has something like this, I would sincerely appreciate if you can share. I want the content to be authentic, so please do not recommend sites that you are not absolutely sure can be referenced as I am sending this along with an invitation.
I think it's important people understand the cermony they are attending and follow the associated rituals. In my own small way trying to keep our traditions alive.
