:wave:Not sure whether this is appropriate for Chit Chat or should be in the Jokes/Humour or even in the Politics and Current Affairs one. But here goes anyway.
Jawaharlal Nehru proved that a rich man can become the country’s PrimeMinister;
Lal Bahadur Shastri proved that a poor man can become the Prime Minister;
Indira Gandhi proved that a woman can become the Prime Minister;
Morarji Desai proved that an old man can become the Prime Minister;
Rajiv Gandhi proved that a young man can become the Prime Minister;
I.K. Gujral proved that a gentleman can become the Prime Minister;
Deve Gowda proved just about anybody can become the Prime Minister;
Manmohan Singh has proved that
........
.......
.
India does not need a Prime Minister.

To an ordinary person it does not matter whether Ram or Ravan is the king.
to an average person you take the very air you breath for granted, but the day you do not have air you will realize how much you depend on it.

Prime Minister

In a democracy Governments are not run by Prime Ministers or Parliament, but by bureaucrats. This is the fact . The moral of the story is described nicely in the British Satirical TV serial "Yes, Minister".

I give below two Samples from that serial:

Yes_Minister_opening_titles.gifHon.Jim Hacker (Minister): Who else is in this department?
Sir Humphrey Appleby (Permanent Secretary) : Well briefly, sir, I am the Permanent Under Secretary of State, known as the Permanent Secretary. Woolley here is your Principal Private Secretary. I too have a Principal Private Secretary and he is the Principal Private Secretary to the Permanent Secretary. Directly responsible to me are ten Deputy Secretaries, 87 Under Secretaries and 219 Assistant Secretaries. Directly responsible to the Principal Private Secretaries are plain Private Secretaries, and the Prime Minister will be appointing two Parliamentary Under-Secretaries and you will be appointing your own Parliamentary Private Secretary.
Hacker: Can they all type?
Sir Humphrey: None of us can type. Mrs Mackay types: she's the secretary.
Minister: Pity, we could have opened an agency.
Sir Humphrey: Very droll, Minister.
Hacker: I suppose they all say that, do they?
Sir Humphrey: Certainly not, Minister. Not quite all...

(Droll meaning having a humorous, whimsical, or odd quality)
Here is another one:

Bernard Woolley (Principal Private Secretary): But surely the citizens of a democracy have a right to know.
Sir Humphrey Appleby: No. They have a right to be ignorant. Knowledge only means complicity in guilt; ignorance has a certain dignity.

History has proved time and again to take a Country forward in all fields we need a benevolent leader of impeccable quality of statesmanship. Not a "Totem-pole" to circle around by sycophants who reap benefits in the name of Governance.
