Purpose of life

What is the purpose of life...?? Are we searching for eternal happiness..??? or just we are living for our pleasures...?? But just remember acc. to Bhavadgeetha all the pleasures of the world leads to pain... So my dear friends live the life in such a way that do every thing in the name of god. see in everybody presence of god.. and finally do everything for THE GOD... This is called bhakthi yoga. Reaching god by praying god.

When you find a simple answer to a complex problem, there can be two explanations.
1. Simpleton.
2. Miracle.
Miracles are basically unexplained events. That needs scientific mind to explain it.
For instance: An apple falling to the ground.
1. It happens all the the time I do not care.
2. It happened to Newton, and he went on to find the force of Gravity.

So if by praying everything happens, I would not bust your bubble by asking you probing question.
But you must have proof of success of your theory, please write about them.

If one can lead a life with reasonable comfort, meet all the necessities of self and the family and be respected and included in a society and if that is pleasure, a little amount of pain to get these is acceptable and most likely anticipated.
A life that cannot instill a sense of achievement or accomplishment cannot be meaningfully and happily lived.
The thoughts around eternal happiness only come when basic needs are met.
So, I will have to respectfully disagree with you in what you describe as Purpose of life, but would gladly accept them as a way of life.

When you are on all four, others will take care of you. When you stand up please cooperate with those who want to educate you, teach you with morals and ethics along side helping you to be on your own. Here you can brood whether you can be helpful to the world at large. If not, to your nation? If not, to your community? If not, to your relatives and friends? If not, to your family? If not, at least help yourself for your minimum to maximum needs. Even if this is a task for you, at least do not harbour ill-will towards all the above. That would be a life great.

The purpose of life (for human beings) is to live, love and leave a legacy .. Steven Covey (Author of '7 habits of highly effective people')

The purpose of life for human beings who have chosen to live a life of Dharma (with a deep understanding of what Dharma is) is to expend efforts and realize that our true nature is whole and is the cause of this multiverse ..

The meaning of life is a philosophical question concerning the significance of life or existence in general. It can also be expressed in different forms, such as "Why are we here?", "What is life all about?", and "What is the purpose of existence?" It has been the subject of much philosophical, scientific, and theological speculation throughout history. There have been a large number of proposed answers to these questions from many different cultural and ideological backgrounds.
The meaning of life is deeply entrenched in the philosophical and religious conceptions of existence, social ties, consciousness, and happiness, and borders on many other issues, such as symbolic meaning, ontology, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, the existence of a or multiple Gods, conceptions of God, the soul, and the afterlife. Scientific contributions focus primarily on describing related empirical facts about the universe, exploring the context and parameters concerning the 'how' of life. Science also studies and can provide recommendations for the pursuit of well-being and a related conception of morality. An alternative, humanistic approach poses the question "What is the meaning of my life?" The value of the question pertaining to the purpose of life may coincide with the achievement of ultimate reality, or a feeling of oneness, or even a feeling of sacredness.

A small clarification.. I didn't say and I will never say that stop all your works and pray god for eternal happiness.. One have to do their duty (for basic needs) and also duty is god, so do your duty in the name of god.. I said to see god in everyone.. be she is your mother or be a man begging outside.. And also whenever you are doing something for "you" this "you" is the ego reason of all problems and pains.. God is not a particle or a human being who lives some million miles from you.. NO, definitely not.. God is within you god is a state that you can reach if you reach the state of eternal happiness (the real happiness where you can not feel happy for pleasures and pain for problems)

If we stop to think too much about the purpose of life that means we are not actually living it too well.
Either we are unhappy or really very very bored.

As I said before as we grow older life goes into auto pilot mode.

Most of us wake up in the morning..get some exercise done..go to work and come home and before you know the sun has set and we are facing yet another day.

The purpose of life is to be alive and living it within the confines of Dharma.
