People how strongly u believe in rebirth . expain in detail plz.i hav plenty of questions
dr.Venkat Sir
Please do not post further question to me after reading my post; I will not answer you.
This Topic is like believing in GOD or not believing in GOD; it all depends upon one’s faith in his/her religious scriptures and teachings.
Rebirth concept is very large and many learned members in this Forum and elsewhere do not believe that Humans have a soul, and there is only one life to live; there be also many learned members who believe in Soul and Rebirth, Their belief is based on their religious scriptures, discourses made by Saints and some real life incidents.
Though Hindu, Buddhist and Jain, Sikhism. Cosmologies are entirely different from one another; the common denominator in all three faiths is the belief in rebirth.
They believe, Soul throws away the body and enters a new body as we throw away a torn clothe and wear a New clothe.
According to Catholic concept Body-Mind-and Spirit (Soul) constitutes a SINGLE UNIT "Created" by God at one Time. (UNI--not Dual) There is Only One Human birth.
Same might be belief with some other religions.
I am NOT here to say who is right and who is not right.
1) (i) Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, verse 22:
'vasamsi jirnani yatha vihaya
navani grhnati naro 'parani
tatha sarirani vihaya jirnany
anyani samyati navani dehi'
'As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, similarly, the soul accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.'
(ii) Bhaja Govindam:
'Punarapi jananam punarapi maranam,
Punarapi janani jatare sayanam,
Iha samsaare khalu dusthare,
Krupayaa pare pahi murare'
'Again and again one is born,
And again and again one dies,
And again and again one sleeps in the mother’s womb,
Help me to cross,
This limitless sea of Life,
Which is un crossable, my Lord'
2) Karma theory and cycle of rebirth
Karma or past births etc. are talked of, to resolve things and get answers in this life, so that we can deal better with situations that we face.
We are all born with certain dispositions, which are the cumulative effect of past births. Our entire pattern of thinking and the decisions we make, depend upon our samskaras. Therefore, depending upon their own samskaras, different people decide differently in a similar situation.
Past Life
Forgetting one’s previous birth upon taking the next appears to be a law of nature (though a law that apparently has exceptions).
Srimad-Bhagavatam, a Vedic scripture, says that by the trauma of birth a child forgets his previous life.
In the Srimad Bhagavatam there are instances where devotees have remembered their past lives. Like Jada Bharata could remember his past life as a deer and King Bharata. He could even remember his previous life when he was in the body of a deer.
"Energy can neither be created nor can be destroyed it can be just transformed from one form to another" and even today’s scientist believe in the presence of souls and they call it some form of energy.
What happens to a soul after it leaves the mortal body? A simple explanation would be to say that there is no soul and the body is a mere organism that lives for a prescribed period of time and then perishes. That is the end and there is no more.
However, if one agrees with all religions of the world that claim that the soul is eternal and is released from the body after death, then one can examine the different theories proposed by the different religions about the afterlife.
The laws of karma and rebirth are easier to accept scientifically, if one has an open mind.
If soul is considered as a form of energy, it cannot be destroyed when the body ceases to function. Energy is neither created nor destroyed but only transformed. One form of energy changes to another. Karma helps to imprint a code on the soul, similar to the genetic code on the genes.
When the body dies and the soul (energy) is released, it carries the acquired chemical code with it. As the unseen soul rises upwards, the number of positive or negative charges that are on its map determines its future course. A soul heavy with negative charge (bad karma) drifts down to the earth to be recycled (and reborn). The soul full of positive charge (good karma) ascends into the cosmos to be eternally released. Is this nirvana or moksha?
Hindu sages, at the dawn of civilization, thought of this remarkable possibility of rebirth of the soul and explained it in the Upanishads.
Is the Eastern religious belief of reincarnation more scientifically feasible? Can the soul carry the 'memory' of its deeds with it when released from the body just like the brain carries the memory of our experiences and learning?
These are profound questions but may one day be scientifically proven and accepted. The chances of such proof are more likely with the Hindu theory of rebirth and recycling of energy.
Children who remember past lives
There have been many cases of children from the age when they can first talk saying that they can remember another life.
They talk about another house, other parents and families and about how they died. Sometimes they become so unhappy that their parents arrange for them to go to the place where they say they lived before. In many cases they are able to identify their previous relatives. Usually the memories start to fade by the time the child is 6 or 7.
The Shanti Devi Case
At the age of four in 1930 in Delhi, India, Shanti Devi began to mention certain details about clothes, food, people, incidents, places which surprised her parents. She mentioned the following which were later verified to be true
