...........................i dont think anything can be done about this, except to leave India. Who ever is fortunate enough to leave end up leaving, the rest stay back and suffer.

Sri rsubramanian,

While it is ok to have a better choice outside our country, why should we think leaving "our own motherland"? If anything is wrong, let us do something to rectify that. We are also the lawful citizens of this land.We also deserve equal treatment as per civil law and constitution. And generally it is so. There may be (and are) aberrations. But we cannot leave our motherland, and will be here to defend and protect it alongwith all our countrymen unitedly.

What happened to the unfortunate Pandits of Kashmir? They were somehow driven out of their own motherland. Fleeing ill only be a temporary reprieve. But then ultimateley we may end up in losing everything.

Further improvements can come and can be brought about. Certain things are not in our control. The number game is more a valuable reality in vote politics,in our democracy. We have to understand the compulsions of this in the body polity of our country.

But if every one of our community members are dedicated towards the goal of removing the difficulties faced by our community members ,then a lot can be done. But unfortunately ,here also , we have to understand and adjust to the reality, that ,among our own community members there are people bent upon to pelt stones to dispel the unity. So the steps have to be careful, without giving chance for inimical interest to exploit, and defeat our good aim.

But let us keep hope and efforts going on. Ultimately things will be good for everyone. Individual in all groups of society are overcoming their blindfolds tied by vested interest and going towards a better world.

Greetings

The fate of the Kashmiri Pandits itself should serve as an eye opener for every one to see that the idea that things will improve and they can hope to return to their native place one day, ultimately things will be good for everyone, etc., is just wishful thinking, nothing more. If I sound Cassandra like, it is unfortunately true.

Further improvements can come and can be brought about. Certain things are not in our control. The number game is more a valuable reality in vote politics,in our democracy. We have to understand the compulsions of this in the body polity of our country.
Which then are the things under our control and how will further improvements come about? Is it not just a pious wish?

But if every one of our community members are dedicated towards the goal of removing the difficulties faced by our community members ,then a lot can be done. But unfortunately ,here also , we have to understand and adjust to the reality, that ,among our own community members there are people bent upon to pelt stones to dispel the unity. I agree that many of our community members may not be interested in removing the difficulties faced by our community members. But there are limitations even for those who are dedicated. We cannot expect that there will be some sort of set-up to handle every type of difficulty like education, job, health etc., for all those who may want such assistance. Even more dedicated and immensely rich communities like the Marwaris of Belgium, have not been able to help each and every needy person in their community despite their large charities.

So, if someone gets a chance to go and settle abroad, he will naturally prefer that, to staying back here in India and be treated as if we are second-class citizen here, in the native country. Is it not natural?

sangom

the pandit's made a big mistake, but then life is dear to everyone of us.brahmin unity got exposed fully in j&k pandits isolation.now the bandits have ganged there, and hartal by some geezer is going on.ashamed that goi is impotent even after 63 years of independance, and listening to hmv from UK?the indian army should be given freedom and finish this border problems with neigbhoring countries, once in for all.but then easy money will get stopped for politicians, who are parasites of the nation, having wealth beyond any reasonable income profession?curse is lifted in 2000,hope at least now Indians breathe happily with pride and dignity, instead of constantly wondering about border's,water-river's,electricity,transportation,education.....
