Recently, Kamalhasan's daughter is reported to have said that she believes in god, and visits temples regularly, even though she was not taught religious faith by her parents.

One can be dharmic without being religious and vice versa.

Shruti Hassan has a different Karma from her father hence the difference.
As far as I know Sarika(kamal's ex wife) was not an Atheist.

True.. one can be Dharmic without being religious and vice versa.
But years of being brought up by a tradition of religion helps instill Dharma is anyone.
So even an Atheist has been exposed to an environment and values his ancestors picked up along the way through religion.

Recently I read in a different context that the fertility rates of atheists and atheist countries is half that of theists..

LOL! Looks like Atheist have less sex!
Too busy finding fault with God or kept finding God non stop with God ala Shishupala and attained Moksha(hence no sex)!

Probably man made religion and not vice verse. Individual's character may be an instinct if it thrives on negative approach or it thrives on righteous things. If he has an amenable character true religion can help him to swerve from the wrong path. People know what is religion and God is the creator. People do not analyse what they are doing is right or wrong. Even if the punishments were to be flashed forward to us, we will still be committing those sins because people enjoy doing them; today's pleasure is preferable to tomorrows punishment. When we were all young we were told horrible stories as to how god will punish us if we do wrong. Today's children miss those stories. We do not know whether fear has restrained us or the righteousness. Corruption is to be tackled the way that "terrorism is going to be tackled".

I plan to visit India. I hate and cringe at the thought that I have to be part of the corruption. But if I have to bribe someone to accomplish all my goals, I will hold my nose and do it.
May be I am not as spiritual?
I do understand that to live this day in and day out must bankrupt anyone morally.
So in India, there is talk of corruption by others, but no one is willing to confront individual corruption (their own). So there will be no solution.

about Swiss Bank and Black money issues?

Barber: Sir, I do not know why, when I ask about Swiss Bank or Black
money, Congress Ministers’ hair stand up straight; and that helps me
to cut the hair easily; that’s why I keep asking.

Indian system of governance is mostly self-governance that is before British entry. after we followed there monetary system judicial system etc.. power balance tilted strongly and now we have to depend for govt on every issue. this created a lot of fear, once any emotion overpower, the moral balance is lost and we became corrupt.
