Yes. It is better to have a certain amount of healthy disrespect for the most respectable person too.

For instance, I somehow, can not appreciate the kind of brigaas that PM Das used to bring in in his singing. To me they sounded contrived/artificial and some how were affecting the otherwise smooth and natural flow of the music. Yes, he had a voice which was a gift from God and he sang only about God. I have my appreciation and respect for him but I am not able to give up my right to be critical of this particular aspect of his music.

I also tend to see how I gradually lost the initial euphoric feeling when I heard PM's bhakti songs for the first time (when I was in Mumbai). It now dawns on me that probably, the same kind of brigaas in almost every song created an unmistakable impression of stereotyped singing, much like what many of the villaDiccAn pATTu singers give us. However, in that case there is a story which we like to hear completely and this is absent in bhakti singing.

What can the dead and gone do???

1. The dead can become ghosts and haunt the people criticizing them.
2. Wife and relatives of the dead can use their muscles to fix those who are criticizing their dead loved ones.

I liked PMs voice . I did appreciate some of his songs . But I am not a fan of his singing .Nor I did appreciate his wearing the saffron.

I have some saffron coloured kurthas presented to me on occassions. Let me see to whom I should give it away. I am looking for the right candidates in my larger

circle who can act pious and get accepted in their social circle in saffron

Saffron is the color of sacrifice and self denial!
Actually it gives a fine character to the person who wears it.
Once my friend who runs an old age home got felicitated.
She looked gorgeous in her saffron colored sari.
Nothing else would have suited that occasion.
Every color has its own smell and taste.
Saffron makes a person sober, responsible and respectable.

which are hard to get since the colored dhothis are made out of cotton.

The dead and gone are gone. Whenever they visit the world for their anniversaries, they can make their critics trip and fall if they see them walking down the road.

But the living have a chance to defend their stand
