Dear Friends

The song I am posting is one of my favourites. The lyrics are byheart to me, but just today for the first time I saw the video (and came to know which movie it is from)!

This is the song from the movie 'தனிக்காட்டு ராஜா' - ராசாவே உன்ன நான் எண்ணித்தான் - Rasave Unnai Naan - YouTube

SP Shailaja's voice is mesmerising and so is Illayaraja's music!

Enjoy!

I nearly breaked my car from full speed on the highway, when I listened to this song. It is so hilarious, if you take any political inclination out of it. Which I did, ofcourse.

Can I imagine a song like that in English, which goes, ‘your lips are white, mine are black and let both the races mix’ only in tamil, I say. and that too from the golden nib of vairamuthu.ooops, dr. vairamuthu :)

frankly, i dont know why the sidekicks are dressed up as a cross between saudi arabina airlines flight attendants and belly dancers!

If you do not find it funny, please move on.

Greetings.

My favourite ஆண்டாள் பாசுரம....

This pasuram in இயல், இசை & நாடகம்....

Iyal Isai and Nadagath Thamizh - YouTube

Cheers!

Greetings.

This song is from an old movie.... quite old, 50 plus years! Sivaji acts like a mentally ill person who reapeats others words and deeds.... and he ends up with two naughty young girls who noticed he sings too in his 'copy cat' act. here is the song they also include a bit of dancing.... my all time favourite song!

raghi,

beautiful dancing by padmini - i guess the sathir style present here, judging by padmini's sensuousness....

Dear Valli

can you suggest few carnatic music and film music sites which are not virus prone

and oblige. Many thanks.

PC RAMABADRAN

Dear Shri Ramabadran

I frequent www.raaga.com and www.thiraipaadal.com most of the times. Raaga.com website is very versatile where you can listen to many type of songs - carnatic, devotional, film, live music etc etc, but you do get some pop-ups. I have not seen any pop-ups when using thiraipaadal.com.

There is also one more website I used to visit called musicindiaonline.com, but I don't find the recent updated version user-friendly.

Regarding virus prone - I am sure that those two websites are safe to use, but then, I also know that my huband regularly updates the anti-virus software.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

kuzhaloothi manemallaam... hear the dulcet voice of sudha raghunathan, flow like honey..every line gave me goose bumps.

i heard it sung in a movie, but had to go to the original source..a great experience folks.

/kuzhaloothi-manamellam/

My dear Kunjuppu

The song was very nice indeed! You know what - I had to refer to the dictionary to look up at the word 'dulcet' used by the commentor for the song!! :)

Kind regards

Dear Friends

Here is a very lovely song that I liked from the movie 'மதராசப்பட்டினம்'. I recently watched the movie with headphones on and my husband joined halfway (watching the movie as a silent film!).

We both cried during the scene when the girl pushes her lover out of the boat just in order to save his life from being beaten to death. At the end of the movie we both hugged each other and silently acknowledged that all love does not culminate in marriage and blessed are those who loved, married and are living a happy and successful life.

So here I present one of the songs that I love from that movie 'பூக்கள் பூக்கும் தருணம்'.

Pookal Pookum - Madrasapattinam - HD - YouTube

Kind regards
