While the population of Sing. Chennai, Tamil Nadu and the country is growing, proportionately the population of statues also growing. This time it is Madurai, known for Tamil Sangam. We have statues of Religious importance, social importance, political importance, etc What is more important is maintenance.

Some of the statues in Chennai will be decorated with a new garland everyday morning. But all the statues don’t get this privilege.

I love to see the statues of Saint Vivekananda at Kamarajar Salai and Sir Thomas Monroe sitting on a horse back at Mount Road everytime when I pass thro. Used to take photographs when I was young.

How come tax payers' money is used like this?

Why not spend it on a desalination plant, at least we will have water to drink, water to irrigate. Instead, every summer we knock on Karnataka's doors.

To some extent we also depend on Telugu Ganga, from Andhra Pradesh to quench the thirst of Chennaivasis.
