tamil women in sri lanka in an unusual profession

It is horrible to see Tamil women is used to clear land mines in Sri Lanka. What all the international organisations like amnesty etc are doing.

The girls/ladies are happy to have source of income. Its really pathetic to find them in a risky job though it makes good sense for them..

rvr, ravi,

these are not as dangerous as you think.

the organization that is employing them is a well known international outfit. these women are well trained and do know what they are doing.

to date there has been no fatality.

my point, was to bring out the unusual job and not to emphasize the morality of it. i think the job is ok, and probably safer than crossing ttk road on foot these days.

the silver lining,is that agricultural land is being claimed back.
