Teenage Love

hi renu

u got original sanskrit text of kamasutra without english translation....i read in sanskrit without english translation ....just sanskrit

teeka.....

When I bought that book back in 1990 I bought one that had Sanskrit and English translation. In 1990 I did not know Sanskrit yet.Only in 2007 I learnt Sanskrit.

So now I can read it well!LOL

I think both you and TBS garu were very knowledgeable on these subjects by teen age.

not really...my knowledge increased when I turned 20. So technically not a teen.

But the advantage of knowing Sanskrit helps one to understand the Kama Sutra better.

teen age love is something like 'cotton' and 'fire' put together. even mild kiss may create problem. I remember one case. brother and sister were sleeping in one room and the parents, in another room.somehow the boy regularly had intercourse with his beautiful sister. when parents found, both the kids refused to oblige. It is said that husband and wife shud not place their kid in between them because the space generates geat and the kid may have some health problem. but it is too late. teenage love has now become a fashion. in western countries, if 'dating' is not done, boys and girls are treated as they have some problem. here in Australia where I live for some months, elder parents are so worried to the extent when their teenage daughter will come home pregnent.

I simply do not understand why so much disapproval for teenage friendship and relationship ending in kissing and little

more. perhaps these youngsters can be educated on pitfalls of unsafe sex and use of condoms.

it is foolish to prevent transaction between sexes leading to worser situations.

most youngsters are intelligent enough to understand what is good for them.

with a little bit of guidance and understanding unwanted pregnancies and the likes can be largely avoided in india

atleast. when opposite sexes transact, it is foolish to act harshly preventing their getting together

krish44, your statement may be true for westerners, not for Indians. If one person is addicted to facebook or twitter.. his/her mind goes into that to see that often. It also makes to think of postponing some important work. Same is the case.. people always look for more when restrictions are taken off.. where is the tradition then! How many wants to marry those who had sex and kissing affair with others... Young age is to focus on improving themselves for good future.. then there are lot of things that can be done then onwards!

Nope...its not Western Culture alone.

The Kama Sutra describes 30 types of Kissing and there is no mention of marriage or restricting to only 1 partner.

Is Kama Sutra a book on sex or a guideline for Hindus how to perform sex; like Gita, a spiritual book?

If Kama Sutra is blindly accepted and believed, then it shows that Indians had knowledge about group sex and swinging very much earlier than West.

Does it have English or Tamil translation?

y see. sex is to be controlled but the moment sex controls y, it will be disastrous. mind y. es even Sage Vishwamitra had fallen to that - srinivasan

Well it depends on how you would want to view any book.

Any type of knowledge is sacred and you can consider sex as spiritual too cos the feel good hormones are released when the human mind is relaxed whatever the activity is..whether its meditation or even a physical act of the close kind.

In copulation the human mind is totally focused on self gratification and the partner/spouse is merely an instrumental cause...even though some swear its Deiviga!

Now if this is understood one can totally realize that life is a very personal journey for self fulfillment and then one can choose to focus on God or a Higher Entity more efficiently.

One has to grow thru every stage in life..after all even Dharma condones the 4 stages of life e finally leading to Sanyas.

Now coming to Indians had knowledge about sex as you had stated there is nothing to be surprised as Indians have covered all topics in the past right from sex to astronomy.

But its just at times Indians have a tendency to act prudish and down play their sexuality when their body endocrine system could be having a Tsunami of lashing Testosterone.

Now coming to Kama Sutra having an English or Tamil translation as you have asked..my answer is "Yes there is"

But at the same time I cant help wondering.."what were you doing all these years that you have not read the Kama Sutra?"

Go get a copy today..you can find it in any reputed book store in India.

Please do not follow the Kama Sutra "blindly"..why do you want to keep your eyes closed?.....keep your eyes open and you might start to wonder why India had not won a Gold medal in gymnastics at the Olympics.

To follow every illustration there one has to be a master contortionist.

But whatever said and done I feel the Kama Sutra still has many shades of grey left unexplored..may be someone could print a new upgraded version.

Base definitions are icky & old and are 80s ideas..Base n is where it goes quickly.

My experience based advice to teenagers is to not experiment at all. Their mind is not equipped to deal with the emotional roller coaster rides that always happen. They are better off by having a large circle of friends in non romantic way instead. With an understanding parents that are able to have open discussion like their buddies, teenagers may listen to the advice of their parents.

Does Kama Sutra explain some of the sexual activities like body exercises being performed in Gymnastics? If yes, then, Kama Sutra is a must for budding Gymnastics to read and know the nuances of various types of body exercises.

My opinion:

For a young, bold and exploring couple with enough time on their side, Kama Sutra is just jujubi. They can, in fact, write a vritti and a bhashyam too. LOL.

It would be a middle aged couple who can even hold a discourse!

A young couple especially the wife would not dare flaunt her 'skills' so soon as she could fear her spouse/partner suspecting her for being "experienced".

So it will only be a middle aged couple who dare to bare and flaunt their basic instincts.

A husband cant suspect a middle aged wife..she can also say he is her Guru and she learnt her skills from him!

We become shameless as we age!LOL

Sentence in bold is a time worn assumption. That needs revalidation in the evolved society of today which is flooded with info.

Shame has no place in this game in which everything is just raw.

So a young couple with energy, verve, desire to explore and time on their side are the luckiest ones in this game. I wont take this further as I may be painted red and hanged for being explicit. I would just say Young couple jay ho!! LOL.

I would say Middle Aged Couple "Heigh Ho the Derry O"!

BTW no one will paint you red..may be they will paint you 50 shades of grey!LOL
